INTRO

It's a Gishath Dino Tribal Deck! I've been thinking about getting into Commander for some time now, but couldn't settle on a deck because the potential commanders in my collection seemed weak or had absolutely no cards to play with them. Come Ixalan Prerelease, I played two events and had a blast with the dinos, then pulled Gishath last event and fell in love. Dinosaurs so far are pretty much only in Ixalan, so it's a nice limited cardpool (About fifty cards) to start learning EDH with.

DECK LOG LINE

With this deck, the goal is straightforward. I want to cast as many Dinos as quickly as possible, and hit my opponent for insane damage. A secondary objective is to protect my Dinos as much as possible from the epic shenanigans that EDH is known for.

BUILD PHILOSOPHY

Gishath is a Naya commmander, with Red, White, and Green as available colors. She is a Legendary Creature - Dinosaur Avatar, so there's really no room for any sub-themes, just straight Dino Tribal. All the Ixalan dinos are in Naya colors, which is great since I'll have everything at my disposal. Given the relatively straight tribal direction, the deck will follow a simple Ramp Aggro philosophy: Cast as many Dinos as quickly as possible, and buff them to hell and back. Currently, there are only three non-creature spells which mention Dino tribal specifically, so most of the combat tricks and buffs will have to come from generic and "Choose a creature type" cards.

BUDGET

There are several cards included in the original list which I deemed too expensive for me right now, so I replaced them with budget options. The cut cards are included in the Maybeboard under "Upgrades".

Disclaimer/Citations

This is my first "from scratch" Commander deck, so I expect it to be rough. I also hope to tinker with this deck for a long time to come.

I've utilized the Professor's EDH Deckbuilding 101 video, his 3 Color Mana Base for Commander video, and The Command Zone's Commander Deck Building Template video.

CardTyrant's Ixalan Park deck was a great inspiration when looking for cards other than Dinos which could fit into the deck, since I have no idea what good Commander staples or cards are. EDHREC was also a great help.
