I'm going to try and make this deck at least somewhat viable in the new standard! Rotation hit us hard, with the departure of Hidden Strings, Desecration Demon and Mizzium Skin this deck is going to go through some changes! If you have any good card suggestions that would synergize with the heroic theme of this deck, I would like to hear about them in the comments!

The following is a little outdated, but the deck still has the same playstyle as before! Just ignore the Demons and the Strings and other card that have rotated out!

The main idea of this deck is to dig up Agent of the Fates + Hidden Strings and clean up the opponent's board. Triton Fortune Hunter and Wavecrash Triton help survive until that happens and they work really well with Hidden Strings as well. Desecration Demon serves as a finisher to close out games with its huge power.

Card summary

Creatures

  • Tormented Hero : A great turn 1 play. If you get the chance to slap Hidden Strings on him on turn 2 with some unblockability you are going to deal some nice damage while healing yourself.
  • Bloodcrazed Hoplite: JOU has answered my prayers with a black creature that gains counters from triggering heroic WHILE REMOVING OPPONENT'S COUNTERS. Yes I'm looking at you U/W heroic, you better be sideboarding some lube in that deck of yours because you are in for a rough ride.
  • Wavecrash Triton : This triton has an extremely useful trigger for stalling and it's great for keeping your opponent's dudes in check.
  • Triton Fortune Hunter : With all the little heroic triggering spells that this deck runs, one tends to run out of cards every now and then. That's why we got this guy to refill our hand whenever we so desire.
  • Agent of the Fates : The whole deck revolves around this guy in a way or another. Protecting this guy is important and once you get him rolling you are in a very good spot.
  • Nighthowler: I'm currently testing this card! On paper, it would seem to synergize with Agent of the Fates very well.
  • Herald of Torment : Since Desecration Demon is gone, we are going to need another card that can serve as a finisher. The bestow mechanic of this card is can create large threats with evasion and with heroic triggers it is surely very useful! Under testing also!

Instants

  • Boon of Erebos : A great card for baiting good trades in combat or protecting your creatures from removal WHILE triggering heroic.
  • Triton Tactics: A neat combat trick that can also be used for pseudo-protection against removal. Also triggers two heroics.

Enchantments+ [[Eternal Thirst]:With Agent of the Fates clearing the board, this card should be in a pretty good spot. This card is under testing as well!

  • Aqueous Form: A card that synergizes perfectly with hidden strings while also triggering heroic.

Sideboard

  • Thoughtseize: A nice card against control! Little more powerful that Duress
  • Drown in Sorrow : Should provide you with a board wipe most of the time when used against aggro decks. If you are facing one, pull out 2 of these to drown your enemies in sorrow.
  • Duress Also against the control decks, this is a nice card to play on turn one and to get rid of nasty cards.
  • Ashiok's Adept : Your bread and butter against control decks. You should swap these for Wavecrash Tritons or Agents when you are facing one.
  • Gainsay : Pretty self-explanatory against blue decks.
