Sideboard

This is a red/white/blue Sorok control and burn deck. The deck is built around taking full advantage of Ral Zarek's, Jace, Architect of Thought's and AEtherling's abilities.

Ral Zarek's ultimate ability is practically a win condition for this deck. and can easily be accessed if I can get Jace on the field early and protect him using countermagic and removal.

There are multiple ways to win with the deck with the first being the obvious, AEtherling and his unblockable swing The second is using Jace, Architect of Thought to beat down any attacking creatures with his +1 ability long enough to sacrifice him to play either Ral Zarek or an AEtherling plus whatever shenanigans my opponent may have for free. The third option is to put Ral Zarek on the field by turn 4 and use him to gain the extra turns needed to give myself a MASSIVE advantage over my opponent if not kill him altogether.

Originally, (as most of you that have seen the deck know) I wanted to maintain the deck solely as an Izzet deck. But with the influx of cards now that people are using to dominate the field with huge creatures and what not that are not able to be countered, I had to improvise. To this end I have added in Sphinx's Revelation, and Supreme Verdict. At some point I will also be trying to work in a set of Azorius Charms as well but that is for another day. :D

I have played against 3 different meta-decks with this one(Gruul Aggro, Reanimator, and Naya Blitz). Gruul Aggro and Naya Blitz both gave me fits early on but once I got past the initial bombardment of creatures I wound up winning the matches. Reanimator was absolutely no trouble at all since I simply countered almost everything that was cast after turn 4 using Dissipate, Syncopate, and Rewind.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. :D

Updates Add

HMM.... well... I wound up making some more changes to the deck... I have removed Ral Zarek from the picture completely and replaced him with a Jace, Memory Adept. Ral simply is not as good as I initially thought him to be. Since Jace is being reprinted I have decided to use him instead as a third win condition using mil(which I am learning to love thanks to my good friend famuntz) and despite the fact that i will miss Ral's -2 ability, I just dont think he is as good a fit for my deck.... :/ I have also dropped to only 3 verdicts and added in an extra counter spell... with card draw that I have, I don't necessarily need to have a full playset of them. but I am finding myself needing more counters... :/ I also added in Boros Charms to my sideboard to have the lovely little infinite life combo with my reckoners... :D So far this has increased performance a little bit but not as much as I was kind of expecting. I will update with progress as needed... (BTW I took third with the deck in this past week's FNM event with a record of 3-1). Thanks again for all the help you guys have given me... It is very much appreciated.. :D
