A kinda budgety (it is modern after all) take on mono-black TRON. It's leaning more to a control-shell as it is, and I feel like this might be the right way to go.

The deck is inspired by MBC, and monoU-Tron. It focuses to prolong the game with removal and discard so it can cast it's own, bigger, threats. The reason to run black is Diabolic Revelation, also I'm a black mage. A big revelation should let you win the game.

TRON is used for inevitability. and as such i have given thought to a Mindslaver lock with Myr Retriever + Trading Post . I feel like the lock is a tad too fragile compared to Academy Ruins + Mindslaver . I chose to lock my opponent out with Possessed Portal + Spine of Ish Sah instead. The goats from Trading Post can also ne sacrificed. This is a lock that leaves the opponent with, hopefully, significantly less permanents, if any. Neithe can draw cards while Possessed Portal is on the battlefield. This makes it easy to cast Possessed Portal at a prime moment with discard.

  • Expedition Map - TRON deck -> auto include. gotta get dem lands.

  • Talisman of Dominance - mana fixing + ramp, excellent early game, but multiples are not that great.

  • Trading Post - stalls the game with goats, and can repair lifetotal if needed. The other modes are used to dodge exile-effects, and/or bring back artifacts. Multiples can be sacced for cards.

  • Spine of Ish Sah - combo's well with Trading Post or Phyrexia's Core . Also the only way to deal with non-creature permanents. That is not my main concern (aggro decks are, and the yrun creatures). Is still relevant though, and ca be cast of TRON.

  • Possessed Portal - the lock. With post and spine this rarely is a dead card, if you want to cast it. Make sure you can survive if you cast it with the cards available, as you won't draw any more.

  • Black Sun's Zenith - excellent board-wipe. Damnation would be preffered, but I'm not uncle Scrooge. It fits since TRON can be assembled, and it can be played as a boardwipe. the black sun also get's past indestructible, and leaves counters for creatures not killed.

  • Devour Flesh - great sac-card to get past hexproof, which is nice. can't control target, and that can be dangerous.

  • Doom Blade - kill things so they don't kill you. flawless logic. There are black creatures so sometimes a dead card, which is bad.

  • Smother kill things Doom Blade don't kill. Seldom a dead card, but don't get the big guys

  • Duress - only discard I feel the need to run on budget. Discard pack should be upgraded first thing if you plan to take the deck out of the budget family.

  • Underworld Connections - it's like Phyrexian Arena, except i can choose if I want to draw, and it technically costs . Could work wonders with scry. Could be swapped for Read the Bones

  • Diabolic Revelation - namesake of the deck. one of the most statisfying cards to cast for shitloads of mana. never forget, though, often worth having mana for casting something after revelation.

  • Solemn Simulacrum - the sad robot is auto-include for TRON. Blocks for a card, and manafixes + ramps. It's perfect! don't want too many copies drawn.

  • Scuttling Doom Engine - can be cast of talisman og dominance + solemn simulacrum on tunr 4 which is strong. not as strong as Wurmcoil Engine, but still strong. Also cycles for 6 damage with Trading Post, which can get through cards/situations preventing from attacking.

  • Steel Hellkite - Destroy everything! also a threat. Can also be cast turn 4, which is nice. Doesn't do anything if answered though, so I'd be careful caating this withough Trading Post to save it.

  • Sundering Titan - kill their lands, they can't do things. we can still do things. combos extremely well with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.

  • TRON-lands - no TRON without these.

  • Phyrexia's Core sac outlet for Spine of Ish Sah , also sacs creatures blocking for dat sweet value.

  • Swamp - gotta cast black spells, fills the rest of the spots.

- Possessed Portal + Spine of Ish Sah - for when they don't need answers.

This is a panel mainly for brainstorming changes which might benefit the deck as a whole.

  • Devour Flesh out. to unreliable. Need more than a single copy for certain matchups, aka one not enough sometimes.

  • Storage Matrix in. might not be best cards ever. But this deck is not stalled by it (always untap lands for sorceries). can sac when Trading Post is online. Problem: gotta get down early. Is it worth it?

  • Perilous Vault is expensive, but gets everything (also my artifacts) not as situational as Black Sun's Zenith. also can trigger on instant speed.

  • Nightcreep - against some decks to prevent spellcasting for a turn. A SB card at best.

Any comment (regarding the deck) are appreciated, as I want this deck to be the best it can be.
