Sideboard

Burn deck wasn't really looking nice in Theros but once I seen Satyr Firedancer and Searing Blood in BNG I knew I have to give it a try. Apparently archetype became really popular and strong, despite the deck not being as expensive as other top constructions in format.

I keep playing this deck from time to time, because I don't feel it to be a deck to play on regular basis. It's greatest strength is the surprise it appears in metagame (although it is not such surprise any longer since it gathered so much popularity) and is kinda hard to sideboard against. R/W Burn has OK or better matchups vs most decks (except Naya Auras I guess - this one is just terrible). I always use to say it's 50-50 chance = either you burn your opponent or not :D

So the full spoiler of Khans of Tarkir is up and running since few days. I've closely watched all the cards, trying to finda recipe to keep Burn alive in Standard.

Unfortunately it seems like this archetype won't survive. It will either transform into Rabble Red or Jeskai aggro/midrange, which is not close to burn strategy anymore. Personally I'm brewing Mono Black Aggro for the first few weeks of new Standard (see: deck:Who-needs-3-colours-when-you-can-have-just-1?) And then will probably work on either Sultai Dredge or Esper Control.

When it comes to Burn strategy - I want to get into Modern, so you can surely expect me to transition this deck into Modern shell, with the upcomming fetchlands the list gets even cheaper and easier to build.

I'm leaving this deck without further updates unless the next set brings some playable Burn cards, but there is still plenty of time before that could happen.

The deck was really fun to play for me, been really enjoying it for the last 6 months, as this list allowed me to be a more competetive player and really got me into understaing the art of playing fast-paced, tempo decks, as well as taught me a lot when it comes to maths in game.
