Sideboard

The purpose of this deck is to use the rogue hit-and-draw mechanic to create a card advantage, allowing you to drop a Torrent Elemental , which is a game-ender and also combos well with a number of cards here.

This is a thief-themed deck, and thieves have hideouts, which is why this deck has Wall of Tears and Fog Bank. These are both cheap, low-mana, and insanely good for the cost. try to get at least one on the field early! It'll take pressure off against pure-aggro decks.

Once you have a wall and a thief on the board, you will use Leap and Artful Dodge to get hits in and draw cards, accumulating that crucial card advantage. (You can substitute Distortion Strike for either of these cards, but I think these two are more thematically appropriate, and the card draw on Leap synergizes well with thieves). as the game goes on, put down walls, thieves, and Trained Condor s (to help your thieves get hits in), until you get to Torrent Elemental .

Torrent ele is great because it turns the thief hit-and-draw mechanic into a guarantee, allowing you to pile on damage and draw more cards. Also, it combos well with Daring Thief, because it allows you to trade your walls for your enemies' strongest creatures without consequence; when torrent ele attacks, walls tap.

some small tips:

  1. You can Leap Wall of Tears to block and bounce fliers, which is great and hilariously troll.

  2. Generally speaking, you'll want to attack before playing creature cards with this deck; if you're doing it right, you should be drawing cards during combat phase, and waiting till after card draw can allow you to make better decisions creature-wise.

  3. Remember that Sygg, River Cutthroat 's card draw doesn't trigger until end of turn, and also that its effect triggers even if you play him after the combat phase.

  4. Daring Thief is great for trading walls for big mean creatures, once you have a torrent ele on the field.

The sideboard exists mainly to counter blue and red control and burn spells. It's probably not very good; help with that would be awesome!

Thanks, and enjoy!
