Creature (2)

A demon deck, with a twist.

win cons:

Summon your demons, and when you're done with them, give 'em to someone else so you don't have to deal with them.

Next, what all the cards are for:

The Demons

  • Ravenous Demon   / Archdemon of Greed   - +4 the best demon for this deck. Not only does he transform, but if you can't sacrifice a human- he does nine damage to its controller AND taps. If your opponent has him- he's an entirely useless nine damage every turn- (if they don't have the creatures to, but we'll get to that)

  • Lord of the Pit - +2 the classic demon. However, his mana cost is absolutely atrocious, so only two. Plus, you can sacrifice ANY creature rather than just a human AND he doesn't tap if you don't pay his sacrifice cost, AND it's only seven damage as opposed to nine. So, in all ways, he is supremely inferior to Archdemon of Greed   for this deck. He is your secondary demon.

  • Demonic Pact +2 This combo is less useful because it works a lot slower- 4 mana, 3 turns of picking, and then an upkeep switch. so at minimum, 8 turns. However, I've found that this combo stresses the living hell out of other players. If I get it out, they will focus all they have to take care of it. The side deck for it, and totally miss the incoming demons they should be worrying about. Great physiological tool, and a fun combo to win with every once in a while.

The Mischief

  • Puca's Mischief - +4 you won't even have to pay your demon's upkeep cost after you hand them over. Really the demons can win the game, but this will drive opponents nuts. PLUS it lets you switch permanents with an opponent. So that means you get their creature, better or worse- it just means they have one less option to sacrifice.

  • Forbidden Orchard- +2 Puca's Mischief requires that your opponent have nonland permanents on the field. this takes care of that for you.

The Drawing Mischief

  • Sage of Epityr - +4 human who lets you organize the top four cards of your deck. Sacrifice for Ravenous Demon   and lets you look through your deck. (also an enter the battlefield ability, but that'll be important later)

  • Omenspeaker - +3 same deal Sage of Epityr , except a little more expensive and Scry 2 instead of Organize 4.

  • Mitotic Manipulation - +2 so this is one of the most fun cards in this deck. At the surface level, it's an expensive land grabber. But it also doubles as a great part of your main combo. So lets say you have the wombo-combo, Lord of the Pit + Puca's Mischief out- now you've let yourself be open by giving your opponent Lord of the Pit - so, for your turn you play Mitotic Manipulation - and bring your second Lord of the Pit out to play. So normally I play this card to fetch lands, but I've used it a couple of times to really piss off my opponent. It also works great with Archdemon of Greed   because you won't have to pay his transformation cost. ( Cryptoplasm is a maybe replacement for this card. It can't fetch lands, but you won't even have to pay the upkeep costs of your demons if you change it at the beginning of the upkeep. Suggestions?)

  • Sleight of Hand- +2... I can't afford Serum Visions.

  • Gitaxian Probe- +4 part of this deck is creature mana control, so knowing your opponents hand is pretty important. Plus, draw a card.

The Creature Mischief

  • Doom Blade - +3 kill your opponents creatures so that way they won't have anything to sacrifice. Go for the Throat as your side deck alternative if your opponent is playing black. Dark Betrayal is your side deck alternative if your opponent is playing mono black.

  • Hero's Downfall- +2 same deal as Doom Blade .

  • Void Snare- +4 return creature back to your opponents hand so that way they can't sacrifice it. Plus this is where some real cruel control comes into play- if you play Void Snare before Doom Blade , you can set your opponent up to waste turns on re-summoning a creature you're just going to destroy. It can also be used to send Lord of the Pit to back to your hand after your opponent lost seven life to his upkeep cost. This is where knowing your opponents hand comes in handy. Also, helps with reusing Demonic Pact.

  • Peel from Reality - +3 remember when I said that entering the battlefield was important? Vapor Snag and Peel from Reality bank on this front- they give you the option of control and reuse- so you can use the abilities of Sage of Epityr and Omenspeaker twice.

  • Skirsdag Flayer - +2 another sacrificial offering. Plus, he can sacrifice your other humans to get rid of your opponents creatures.

Ending words

So it's a budget deck that's a little rough around the edges. My main goal for this deck was to use creature control as a way of stalling until you got your combo out with your draws. It is rough, and needs some fine tuning. Please comment and help if you can. Suggestions are much appreciated!
