pie chart Defend to the last Defender!

So the win condition is Luminarch Ascension and Hoofprints of the Stag , and I have some sweet defenders to help keep me alive while they build up.

It definitely feels like the game might drag out until the enchantment start kicking in, or I get wrathed.

Ideas, feedback, etc. are welcome =)

I approve. I do love seeing other strategies than "bashing their face as fast as you can". Pride GuardianMTG Card: Pride Guardian and Wall of ReverenceMTG Card: Wall of Reverence just might find a home in this deck. Hell, why stop there? Spread your influence! Guard DutyMTG Card: Guard Duty. You might even consider Norn's AnnexMTG Card: Norn's Annex over Ghostly PrisonMTG Card: Ghostly Prison to help dissuade people from attacking further.

It isn't going to save you from burn combos. you are also unbelievably weak to, uh what was that card's name, oh yeah Wrath of god.

March 23, 2012 5:25 p.m.

Kasseem says... #8

@ budmanthewise - For burn, shrugs shoulders meh. I guess I shouldn't choose this deck vs a burn deck. Wrath is mentioned in the description =)

@ CptDanger - I like the idea of spreading the defender love. Not sure what I'd take out though. I think I'll which to Norn's AnnexMTG Card: Norn's Annex and see how it plays out =)

Thanks for the feedback peeps =)

I am in love with this deck. Personally, I am a super defensive player, so this is right up my ally. Definitely a +1. I think I might try to actually create this deck. :)

As for the comment, I'm really not sure what I said sorry. But ill go off of what I know as a fairly new magic player. If you're defending, I think you need at least to side 2 Oblivion Ring s and I definitely think you need to use at least 2 mainboarded Detention Sphere s.

I do like the overall structure of the deck, and if i were you, I would try Entreat the Angels as an experimentation!

got a deck similar to this... it runs esper colors for cards like: Sleeper Agent , Souls of the Faultless and Pillory of the Sleepless ,.. i then ping my opponent until i can finish off with a Fireball effect. High Ground is awsome, and make sure you dont have to overetend vs agresive decks who might run Bonfire of the Damned or alike.

Kasseem says... #13

@matt2265 I feel Path to Exile does what your removal suggestions do. Though I can see Detention Sphere being useful vs tokens. So I'll throw some in the sideboard.

@Dirt3pz Cool ideas with the B/W cards, but I want to keep it W/U for the time being as I already have most of the deck put together. I do however love High Ground ! That will definitely help me not over commit into the board just to get wrathed.

Thx for the feedback peeps! It helps a ton =D

well in case you need an additional win condition (not that you need it) there's always Doorkeeper :D

I had him in, but then realized I never got a critical mass of defenders to be worth it.

Ghostly Prison is usually better than Norn's Annex. Comes out sooner, and uses up more resources.

Ghostly Prison rather than Norn's Annex and perhaps Brave the Sands instead of High Ground as it gives also your tokens and abominations the chance to block.

Also I see no reason why you should not have a Greater Auramancy at least in your sideboard as both your win conditions rely on enchantments.

Also you have no answer to any mass removal like Wrath of God so I'ld add a Reveillark as it basically gives you back each and every creature you play.

Reinforced Bulwark can also protect you from spell damage, and from damage coming from hexproofed umblockable creatures and goes well with the deck.

The one card that defeats all defender decks..

Champion of Lambholt

February 14, 2016 4:31 a.m.

It seems like a great deck except when it comes to facing a slower deck you need something like Cancel to hold onto just so you can counter an opponenets attempts of trying to kill your enchantments otherwise against fast aggro decks you'll do fine.

Like ser_paolo said, Ghostly Prison would be a better choice over Norn's Annex. Most opponents won't have that much of a problem paying 2 life for each creature, but it is not guaranteed that they will be able to pay 2 mana for it; Annex just gives them the opportunity to start swinging for the win when there's an opening. Also, the only real benefit Annex has over Prison is that it can prevent opponents from attacking planeswalkers, and you aren't running any. The Conspiracy 2 print of Ghostly Prison is a little under 3 bucks a pop; totally worth the investment.

cornpie987387 says... #22

I would strongly consider Daxos of Meletis, because its basically unblock able, you can sit behind your defenses and still do a little bit of damage if there creatures have stronger power then yours.

Windborn muse, ghostly prison, propaganda and archangel of tithes would work nicely.

So I ran a pillowfort deck with fogbank and I found that I would get reckt by powerful cards with trample. So I added Guard Gomazoa, and it was the best decision I have made. If blocking for gain is your style I like Reef Worm and Wall of Frost.

I've been playing around with defenders for awhile now. Green has a great amount of acceleration and assault formation and chord of calling. Blue needs drift of phantasms

Kulbabs says... #28

Also sideboard have wall of frosts. They are the nuts against creature decks

March 30, 2017 2:33 p.m.

juampi65 says... #29

Hey it is so cool but I would recomend you something that gives your cards protection to blue because Ludevic's Test Subject  Flip can be returned to your hand for two manas in the last moment and the same happens with Luminarch Ascension and there are so many blue decks that consist in making the opponent discard his/her library little by... not that little xd.

Assault Formation This is a superfamous card...but you have no green mana sources so... puf

Anyway it seems fun to play.

I did a similar deck to yours Psychological wall
