After some studying and discussion with some merfolk friends, I kept going back and forth on how to build fish, having DRW in and out, going Jadelight or not.

Long story short, changed from Jadelight to Branchwalker. The one mana difference does impact the deck, to be able to cast two creatures turn 3 is better than just one. Also, going to embrace the DRW plan, even not being so fast to current standard, the strategy of developing a good boardstate and going for unblockable damage seems to be the correct way so far.

With the sideboard changes, it seems that the deck is more prepared for the current matches that it may find.

Probably the only cards that I'd want to make room in the 75 are Swift Warden and Seafloor Oracle. They have strong abilities that protect and keep the deck going. Not to mention the 3/3 flash body is super good.

Indeed I need to focus wether I want to go on the conter plan or not. Today's FNM I tried something different from this build, even making 4-0 last FNM with it, using some Jadelight, it's an interesting idea. DRW indeed is feeling too slow for current standard even benefiting a lot from playing the creatures after it. Gonna ponder about Hadana's and Swift Warden as they are good inclusions in the deck. Been thinking a lot about putting Vineshaper Mystic in the main to help with the counters. BDefense is very good, and I keep putting it in and out every now and then.

Love the Deck plus 1. I had to splash a third color due to not having decent removal in GU. Anyways great work!

Hey check out my deck Current Occupants (Bant Merfolk)
