The following are the updates:

I do love me some subtle cloudy backgrounds! +1!

I really don't have much to say here... looks like a fun list. Maybe Idyllic Tutor or Academy Rector to grab your high-value enhancements?

Also Solemnity and Decree of Silence is a hard lock. It might be a good wincon.

Suns_Champion: Hey thanks for the +1. Great suggestion for the tutor to make the hard lock combo more consistent! :)

How would Escape Protocol + New Perspectives work?

Enral says... #4

detihy: It's supposed to be another option to cycle for free but I must have caused some confusion by puting it in the same line as escape protocol. I've removed it from the description.

Have you considered running Decree of Annihilation and Crucible of Worlds? Then, if you want the deck to be more competitive, I would consider removing the bounce lands.

Enral says... #6

NinjaBunny01: Definitely, those were initially in my starting list and I've decided to leave them out as my playgroup would definitely be against land destruction. Bounce lands were included in order to have it combo with Cloud of Faeries and blink/flicker enchantments like Escape Protocol. Since my playgroup leans towards a less competitive side I can afford putting in more tapped lands. Cheers.

First of all, I’ve been thinking of building a Gavi deck myself, it seems really interesting and I have never played Jeskai in commander before. Have a +1. I’m considering running Abandoned Sarcophagus for fun and janky reasons. Another cool card would be Decree of Justice for tokens.

Using Sun Titan may be a viable choice to recycle Solemnity or other permanent cost 3 less and cheat using Sneak Attack can be pretty useful with blinks such as Astral Drift

stcsteven97: Sun Titan is not a bad idea for extra recursion of permanents. I'll have to find a space for it.

Enral How about adding Snapcaster Mage for flashing back "insors" ?

stcsteven97: Not sure if I like the idea of exiling my stuff to be honest...I do have cards like Sacred Excavation to get my cyclers back as I need a critical mass to be able to "go off".

Hi there! I'm a big fan of the cycling ability and the deck looks terrific.

Unfortunately, I think it's maybe too competitive for my playgroup and so I was considering to build Gavi, Nest Warden focusing more on the token ability (I do love tokens!). Reading through your description tho, I saw this:

"Building around her token making ability requires significant commitment to be able to cycle at least two cards a turn or have a reliable draw engine and limits deck construction significantly."

and I was asking myself why are you talking about cycling two cards? That's probably true if I play in a reactive way (which would probably be the best thing to do), but if I play proactive I just have to circle one card (for free) during my turn to get my token, as I've already drawn a card for turn, right?

I dunno, maybe I'm misinterpreting something here. Anyway keep up the good work and those spicy backgrounds!

WhaleProfessor: You're right, you are guaranteed to get at least one token during your turn if you just cycle a card. I should have worded it better (I'm still refining my write-up) but what I meant is that to optimize her token ability, you have to put a lot of work into it in order to take advantage of it. So what that means is that you have to dedicate deck space to include other token making cards, token supporting cards, and additional card draw engine to make this token strategy really work. But by doing so, many other deck slots that could have been more cyclers are lost. Obviously this is just my opinion and the token strategy is totally legit too! Hope that makes sense!

Feels like there needs to be more ramp, especially with Gavi being a 5 CMC commander and only running 36 lands. Any thought on bringing in the signet and talisman package for a consistent turn two mana rock? Not sure what I'd cut, probably some of the less impactful cycle cards like Traumatic Visions and Eternal Dragon. Just my two cents!

vintageVerb: The signets were initially in the deck but was cut as I realize that having Gavi out quickly isn't urgent. Usually how the game goes is to have me set up with cards like Astral Slide for Gavi protection and Alhammarret's Archive before deciding if I should start casting Gavi. I want to focus more on the mid to late game where I have a higher chance of drawing into a cycler rather than a signet. I've also included pseudo-ramps like Vizier of Tumbling Sands and Cloud of Faeries which in conjunction with karoo lands can propel me significantly in mana production. After more playtesting I may refine it more and put the signets back in but for now I don't think they are necessary. Cheers!

Enral thanks a lot for your answer man, it's really appreciated!

Yep, I totally agree with you: the token route is not optimal for sure, but, as KC & The Sunshine Band sang, that's the way I like it! :)

Man, I feel groovy now, I'm gonna go dance in the kitchen!

Will endorse this deck to the community. Thanks for making the list btw.. I'm currently making the list in paper and I pretty like it when I tested it out in TTS. Currently, I only play Jeskai and no superb deck of Jeskai in my lists. Love it Enral

Consider Dockside Extortionist? It's can snergy with Astrals.

tim27: For some reason that card totally slipped my mind. I'll have to find space for it.

what about keranos? its a draw or a bolt every turn. approach of the second sun can be usefull too!

April 17, 2020 2:52 a.m.

Enral says... #23

Fernah14: I'm not so sure about keranos just because this deck doesn't really care about damaging opponents and there are so many other more efficient ways of drawing cards already like Rhystic Study/Mystic Remora. The deck initially ran approach as the main win condition but realized that it is too clunky and basically a dead card early to mid game. I find that Jace/Oracle is a better and more reliable win condition as they are never a dead draw.

Enral Do you recommend in putting Luminous Broodmoth for recursive ability with Sun Titan and Solemnity??

April 17, 2020 10:12 a.m.

Enral says... #25

stcsteven97: I think that's kinda overkill and doesn't really fit with the theme and direction of my deck. But I can see it being a decent inclusion in other lists.
