Sideboard

Here it is, my own personal version of the Deadguy Ale deck in Legacy meets the Token deck in Modern. With a few touches of my own such as Phyrexian Obliterator, Pack Rat and Bitterblossom, hence the name of the deck which is also based on the fact that I love really bitter ale.

I wanted to create a deck with heavily disrupts your opponent's game. This is obviously where Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek come in. I play more of Inquisition of Kozilek simply because of the loss of life Thoughtseize causes. As I also run Bitterblossom and 4x Godless Shrine I need to keep life loss to a minimal.

Tidehollow Sculler is a great card for disruption and also forces your opponent to keep a creature at home to block him.

The idea is then to begin populating the board with Bitterblossom and Lingering Souls making it hard for your opponents big creatures to get through. However, these cards can also prove threatening when you drop Intangible Virtue.

So far it's very Token like.

However, with the extra removal spells, 8 in total, you have more control over the board. Liliana of the Veil is amazing at keeping things under control once you've got a wall of tokens to jump in the way of creatures attacking her or Slaughter Pact at the ready.

So, hopefully once you get to turn 4 or 5 things should be good. Bring on the finishers...

Phyrexian Obliterator! Solid as when attacking and almost garanteed to deal 5 damage. If not he's a great creature to keep on defence whilst the 1/1 flyers deal the damage.

Pack Rat. Great synergy with Lingering Souls whilst Intangible Virtue just makes those rats even bigger.

So, with 9 discard spells, 11 creature removals, loads of token, and Phyrexian Obliterator and Pack Rat to finish things off, you really begin to disrupt things and enjoy playing the deck. Well I do, it's my type of deck.

The sideboard is geared more towards my current Meta so it would need changing for larger tournaments.

I've played it a few times and loved the style of it, annoy and disrupt your opponent's plan and then start beating him/her up the good old fashioned way with creatures.

Any suggestions are more than welcome though! So please please comment and/or +1.

Cheers
