Dega Midrange

The Dawnbreakers have arrived to Khans of Tarkir and are ready to exact revenge! Dawnbreaker's Assault! is the wingman to my popular and well played deck, Kaalia's War Council! [RTR]-[THS] STD. It preformed well in the standard that once was but is now retired.

With the Dawnbreakers lead by forces such as Elspeth, Sun's Champion they are truly a force to be feared!

This deck appeals more to those who want to be more sling spells to fill their graveyard and take advantage of some of the perks of our other spells to make them more efficient. These spells back up our suite of creatures that make it more difficult for the opponent as well.

~~~IMPORTANT NOTE~~~
IF YOU SUGGEST A CARD, FOR MAINBOARD, SIDEBOARD, OR JUST IN GENERAL, PLEASE GIVE A REASON BEHIND IT AND EXPLAIN A BIT WHY I SHOULD USE IT OTHER CARDS I AM CURRENTLY USING. SECOND, SUGGEST WHAT I SHOULD TAKE OUT FOR THEM. THANKS!
~Mainboard~
[ LANDS ]
Battlefield Forge and Caves of Koilos: These cards are powerful multi-colour mana producers that help us keep pace with other decks that have ramp, almost any deck running Green.
Bloodstained Mire: This Fetch land is fantastic for fixing my mana between the early Red and Black spells I use and helping me hit the important mana when I need it. Example, going from playing Hero's Downfall turn three into Thunderbreak Regent on turn four. This can be tough but is certainly able to be done!
Temple of Malice and Temple of Silence : This help smooth out my draws with their scry and allow me to fix mana at the same time. They do come in tapped but that is fine because the spells we are able to play at the turns we set these ones should be most efficient.
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth: Awesome little treasure. It is basically a Swamp if nothing else but can provide use with all the Black mana we need when it's needed. Note this card can also help the opponent as well but the key is hopefully it helps you more. It also makes some of our lands that would normally cost 1 life to tap for a Black mana source not cost that 1 life.
[ CREATURES ]
Goblin Rabblemaster: Neat little 3 drop creature that just gets tougher to deal with the longer he stays on the field. He will normally be the first to soak up early removal and creature hate which is just fine. Every turn he's on the field he's giving us free board state. This hopefully hits the field and gifts us a piece of Fodder for Fleshbag Marauder.
Seeker of the Way : Very multi-purpose creature. It is good at both defence and offence while maintaining our life at the same time. Each non-creature spell we cast makes this guy bigger and harder to get rid of that turn. With how little creature spells we run almost every turn this guy is out he will be 3/3 or higher with lifelink which is nothing to laugh at for 2 mana.
Archangel of Tithes : This has taken the place for Thunderbreak Regent as I feel it gives me more control and can also block more profitable against most things. Another plus is it lives Languish and can take a bit more burn than other creatures. This sweet little angel also forces the opponent either into a defensive or offensive position, should they use mana to attack on their turn on block on mine. This also had to be taken into account with their own spells they are looking to cast on either my turn of their.
Stormbreath Dragon : What can be said about this one that has not been noted before? 5 mana for a 4/4 hasty body with flying and an option to burn opponents late game to also get powered up! Has pro white which can stop some of the more popular removal from some of the popular decks that feature white (Abzan, Mardu, Esper).
Kothophed, Soul Hoarder : Great creature to top the curve as he is really big and rather evasive. Really strong late game card as it feeds us steam we might need later in the match. He also defeats most fliers and ground opponents spare a few dragons.
Fleshbag Marauder : Nice bit of removal on a stick. Worse comes to worse he can save himself to rid the opponent of a creature we can't get rid of through their own sacrifice. Ideally there will be a few Goblin tokens on the field to feed him instead.
[ PLANESWALKERS ]
Elspeth, Sun's Champion: Wins games if they can not answer her. She guards her self while climbing to her Ultimate. She has a fantastic board wipe that ignores most of our creatures which is awesome.
Sorin, Solemn Visitor : One of my favorite walkers! Great 4 drop slot option as he really puts us in a great position. He offered so much, life gain with ALL my creatures, if we lack creatures he can dump a body. Really easy to play because of his colours. Just a great team player.
[ INSTANTS ]
Bile Blight : This little gem takes care of a lot of early threats such as opposing Goblin Rabblemasters and tokens made by them. Can be used before or after combat damage to hopefully finish off a creature if it has a bigger body.
Hero's Downfall: Still one of the greatest removal in the current standard. Hits targets outside of Crackling Dooms range. Takes care of opposing planeswalkers and creature bombs.
Fiery Impulse : Really strong creature removal early game if we can feed our yard fast enough. This also feeds our other Spell Mastery cards.
Utter End : Great hard removal. Takes care of anything. Planeswalkers, creatures, enchantments and artifacts all fall to this. It's a bit expensive so we run 2 as there is not much that escapes outr removal suite as it is.
[ SORCERIES ]
Thoughtseize: Still some of the best hand control in the current standard. Takes care of problems before they become problems. Its life loss is managed by the lifegain we have through out the deck.
Languish : Cheaper field control than End Hostilities. Arguably could be better. I'm trying it out as it hits earlier and takes care of most of the same threats just a turn earlier. If I find its not hitting the threats I might need it too I'll switch it up.
Exquisite Firecraft : Strong burn that can not be avoided spare a counter spell. Having options to hit creature or opponents is even better!
Infinite Obliteration : Strong creature control if you know exactly what kind of deck your facing. Dragon Control decks and anything else usually run very memorable creatures that are either hard to deal with or harder to just fight through. Sidebored a second if when needed.
~Sideboard~
Erase: Fantastic Enchantment control. This gets around any of them that would be Indestructible, I'm looking at you various gods of Theros block. Also handles any enchantment creatures and is a more removal at that point. Some of the Sieges (Outpost Siege, Citadel Siege ) that came along are our targets mostly along with Whip of Erebos for the Sidisi Whip decks floating around.
Thoughtseize : The full set is always required at least in the list. Keeping them Sideboard unless against control or combo.
Utter End : Just more removal that gets around a lot of things.
Anger of the Gods : Originally removed from most decks when newer cards were introduced. But with recent creatures like Den Protector + Deatmist Raptor synergy running around this puts them in thier places and makes them less efficient.
Celestial Flare : This gem got reprinted and I'm pretty happy. Strong removal against Monsters that are harder to deal.
Infinite Obliteration : Mire creature control if they run multiple problem creatures that we just can't let get out of hand. Hitting Rabblemaster and ones of the like really hurt opponents.
Read the Bones : Reprinted, strong draw card. Gives us card advantage mid to late game. The life loss is minimal while we are running some of our other cards Mainboard.
