The Reaper King has drummed up an army of scarecrows to conquer the multiverse.

This deck was built based entirely on the Reaper King, though some tweaks have been made since the initial concept to make it more viable, at least in casual EDH games. As a bit of a gimmick, I designed it as a true singleton deck, with no basic lands of any sort, helped by the fact that a fair number of the cards are colorless.

The star of the show is, obviously, the Reaper King himself. I wanted to go with a true scarecrow tribal deck, so the majority of creatures are scarecrows to trigger the commander's ability. Fleshing out the ranks were changelings with useful abilities, and Sakashima the Impostor, who can copy the Reaper King without triggering the legend rule and thus get more bang for your buck. He can also be used to copy enemy commanders or other useful creatures to nab their abilities.

Other stars of the show include:

Darksteel Forge: a must-have in an artifact-heavy deck like this.

Rite of Replication: useful for copying creatures, but especially useful to kick and copy the Reaper King for mass destruction.

Alpha Status and Call to the Kindred: Great enchantments to stick on the changelings.

Tezzeret the Seeker : untaps artifacts and can be used to tutor out the six artifact lands for free.

Venser, the Sojourner: great for triggering the Reaper King as well as making creatures unblockable, and pulling off his ultimate effectively grants a Reaper King-esque emblem.

The rest of the deck's foundation is mostly generating mana in the necessary colors, protecting the Reaper King (or getting him out of the graveyard if need be), and mass destruction (which skips over the scarecrows if the Darksteel Forge is out). The deck is still slow, but starts to shine in multiplayer.

It's Harvest Time.

I swapped out the cycle of Vivid lands for the Alara tri-color tap lands because I needed the vivids for a different deck, and had been meaning to swap in tri-colors instead for a while.
