Here comes Darien, The King of Kings. You like tokens? You like soldiers? Perfekt!

Token Generation

You need tokens to win, so here are your options.

Feel the Pain

Use your landbase to produce your army. With lands like Ancient Tomb you habe a steady supply of bodys.

Use Mana Crypt and Mana Vault to turn their disadvantage in more tokens.

Why can't I hold all these tokens

Outside of Darien we use big spells and some creatures for his army. Hero of Bladehold , Knight-Captain of Eos give us a small boost and reasonable strong creatures.

Luminarch Ascension and Martial Coup are big mana sinks with usefull side effects.

Luminarch Ascension very agressive play in Darien. Your opponents have to decide: attack an generate 1/1 Tokens or stall and give you 4/4 Tokens.

Anointed Procession as a force multiplier is perfect.

The only Planeswalker in this deck is Elspeth, Sun's Champion , token maker, boardwipe and pumpspell in one beautiful card.

Pumping Up

To transform little soldiers in big dudes.

Hold High the Banners

Static effects are often good. Coat of Arms transform puny soldiers in scary giants. But look out for other token decks, your opponent gain the bonus also.

Divine Visitation ...when not removed you win the game.

Field Marshal first strike can make the diffrence.

The big Finisher here are Akroma's Memorial (Haste tokens with flying? Yes please.) True Conviction (Everyone like 100+ life) and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite (Boardwipe with Buff, never looked so good) and the big fluffy wings of Avacyn, Angel of Hope . With Akroma's Will you can close out games very easy or protect your board.

Warcrys on the Battlefield

For triggering abilties we have intresting choices.

Goldnight Commander can win you games. Very good synergie with all your token producer.

This is also true for Cathars' Crusade .

Archangel of Thune with your lifegain, a headache to deal with...for your opponent.

Tricks up your Sleeve

Mono white has tricks? Yes!

Darien Tactics

Sword of Fire and Ice can be used on yourself to produce soldier token. Sword of Feast and Famine untap your painlands and/or utility lands. Very strong card.

Super Secret Tech: Fanatical Devotion remedy against Boardwipes and most spot removal. And you can prevent stealing, or use it as a political tool. Also usefull with Skullclamp, when your soldiers become to big.

Call the Coppercoats can be funny against other tokendecks, but will always be usefull.

Teferi's Protection is here an allstar, everytime a suprise.

Sivvi's Valor with Darien out.

Staying Alive

For victory, you have to decide the amount of damage you take. You need time to setup Darien and his army.

Righteous Aura protects you from commander damage, infect and big burn spells. Thanks to the keyword chose you can "target" hexproof and shroud creatures.

Kor Haven is in the same category and can be used political.

Knight-Captain of Eos can shut down complete combat phases.

Lifegain is a important part in this deck. Your life is a resource for soldiers, so more life more soldiers.

Soul Warden , Soul's Attendant are very important for this deck. In combination with Darien you will not die form non lethal damage (but sadly from life loss, so watch out ).

The Weakness

The big problem in mono white: Carddraw and ramp. We must grab every straw to hold on.

Mana where are you?

There is nearly no ramp in mono white, only mana rocks are possible.

There is one card Oath of Lieges . It buffs your opponents ramp as well, but you will be always behind so it is not a big problem.

Constant Landdrops help a lot. Weathered Wayfarer and Land Tax are for this spot. The Wayfarer can search you the important lands.

There is also "hidden" ramp. Ancient Tomb , Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx are often one landdrop for more mana, perfect with Sword of Feast and Famine .

With Deserted Temple you can use this to your advantage

Then in the last spot we have the mana doublers: Extraplanar Lens . I run snow covered plains for the Lens, so most of the time only I get the bonus.

To draw a card

How hard can it be? Sadly very hard. Skullclamp is the allstar, search it with Enlightened Tutor and Steelshaper's Gift . When your little creatures are to big, sacrifice them to your utillity lands.

Scroll Rack is our most powerfull tool, mostly in combination with Land Tax (For 1 Draw 3)

Mentor of the Meek the carddraw machine, perfect with Darien and any painland.

Slate of Ancestry in the late game insane. Yes I like to draw 15, thanks.

Oblation on a token is a option too.

Esper Sentinel is the perfect fit for the deck!

Build your Army, slowly, protect your life total. Tutor Scull Clamp, Soul Sisters and Weathered Wayfarer early as possible. Try to be agressive, when you have the resources. Purge the land! Take back Jerusal....ähh Kjeldor
