Daretti "Best Brown" Artifact Good Stuff

Commander / EDH

Swaffle

I've been playing this deck and slowly iterating it since the day the 2014 Commander decks came out. It's definitely my single favorite commander deck and it can play a fun fair game as well as being pretty degenerate with the right draw. What I like the most about is its uncommon pairing of deck archetypes that don't make sense together and probably shouldn't work on paper but are extremely effective: It's a mono-red, graveyard-based, control deck.

The main aim is to play mana rocks first, get Daretti out as soon as possible, and start filling your yard with big stuff and digging for more rocks, removal, and useful stuff. If you can get Daretti out on turn 1 (rare, but possible) or turn 2, generally you want to try to play some blockers and try to rush towards getting the emblem. If you are attracting too much attention or get Daretti out later, just try to filter your hand and use the minus ability to get some powerful artifacts out of your yard in exchange for artifact lands, cheap artifacts, or smaller mana rocks.

Has a small stax package in the form of Winter Orb and Tangle Wire, they are extremely effective after a couple mana rocks in the early game and can really help you press an early advantage. They will not make you any friends, but they are powerful enough to be worth the spots in the deck.
