Finally got my hands on some well loved (and quite well played) Force of Wills, so out comes Faerie Trickery. While they have seen their fair share of love, I got 2 for the price of one, So yay. Now to finish off the lands and ramp...

Two things what do you think of the change to the Vancouver Mulligan? I am looking for an opinion on my deck. What sticks out as odd in my deck and what would you change them too? I know I have asked before but with the new rule changes, deck edits and feeling to close to the project. Damia sage of stone-Where's the Tooth and Nail

So I should probably start by mentioning that I never used partial Paris mulligans, ao the only thing I had to do when they changed the mulligan system over was celebrate. And honestly, I'm glad partial Paris is gone. The mulligan system favoured combo decks far too heavily and meant that people would constantly mulligan to get that one specific card they needed to win. It was just stupid and encouraged lazy deck building.

So this deck has always been designed to use normal mulligans. It means that I run a higher counterspell count in the deck for starters, as it's harder to dig for one in your opening hand. I also run a high ramp count, again for the same reasons.

It means that I have to be slightly more picky in the cards I run. That's why I prefer something like Mystic Confluence over a regular counterspell. While it does cost a bunch more mana, it gives me options and the potential to draw up to 3 cards at instant speed.

The counterspell suit is also different from someone like Epochalyptik's Damia build as without partial paris mulligans, people have to work harder to get their win con going so games go longer. That's why I run so many catch all, hard counters and why I currently run 4 exiling counterspells. I also run more removal than he does as I need to deal with the potential of more threats resolving simply because games are longer. Again why I chose to run a card like Massacre Wurm. While removal its removal isn't the best, its ok and it also fills in as a combo piece.

I also dont run some "staples" due to meta choices. For example, I dont run Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir as I run the most control heavy deck it the meta. I also dont run Necropotence because I've come up against one too many wheel effects. That and I'm like super paranoid about having cards in hand.

As for your deck, I'll take a look and leave some comments on things I think you could modify.

Finally found someone who agrees with me regarding PP. lol. Although Vanc looks a lot like Paris mulligan, i'm glad it is a move a way from the direction Partial Paris was taking the game.
