Creature (1)

This is my Cruel Reality standard deck prototype.

The goal of the deck is to curse the opponent to, uhm, well, let him enter a cruel reality where he has to sacrifice his creatures and planeswalkers first and then dies to the damage he receives because he cannot sacrifice anymore.

Since Cruel Reality has 7 CMC I decided to go for Golgari. Druid of the Cowl, Naga Vitalist and Deathcap Cultivator help me to ramp while the latter can also provide some protection in the later stages of the game once he gets the Delirium Deathtouch. Gift of Paradise gives more land acceleration and that little bit of extra life that lets me get to late game.

Obviously the creatures cannot protect me alone against bigger threats. Therefore I included a playset of Edifice of Authority which so far appears to be super cool especially once it has enough brick counters.

The remainder of the nonland cards is supposed to provide more consistency. Diabolic Tutor allows for searching a Cruel Reality, Heroic Intervention helps against removals and the two Secret Salvage included let me search for the remaining Cruel Reality if the opponent managed to get out of his Cruel Reality for the moment. Finally Wildest Dreams lets me get my win condition back should the opponent be able to counter it reliably.

The land base only includes a playset of Hissing Quagmire in addition to basic lands. Deathtouch is very useful once I got some Cruel Reality out as it speeds up to the point where my opponent loses life.

If you have some advice for improving the deck or can give me an idea of which cards I should include into the sideboard I would really appreciate that!

Blooming Marsh replaced by Hissing Quagmire for a cheaper mana base and the possibility to block some creature in late game in order to make the opponent unable to sacrifice one. Also Blooming Marsh seems more like a card for early aggressive strategies.

2 Heroic Intervention moved to sideboard and replaced by Wildest Dreams. While Heroic Intervention still is valuable against decks that can remove enchantments, I feel Wildest Dreams is absolutely needed against counterspell strategies. I did not replace all Heroic Intervention as it also is nice for blocking with deathtouch lands and is valuable if the opponent can exile enchantments.
