This deck will be all about casting a lot of Eldrazi. I like to combo with this deck, so I want to include it into the deck to make it faster and spew out Eldrazi. My playgroup is rather casual, so I don't want to go in too hard. This would ruin the fun for everyone included.

Quick overview

  • Playstyle: combo casual
  • Construct: Land and creature only
  • Aim: Casting all the Eldrazi

Needs help with:

Finding more combo's

Any help or comment is greatly appreciated!

Casting Animar

Cast Animar as soon as possible, I've invested in filter lands, Birds of Paradise and check lands just so I can cast Animar consistently within turn 2, 3 or 4. Do consider when there's a control player to first cast cards like Gaea's Herald or Siren Stormtamer, before casting Animar.

What to tutor for

Just keep in mind that whenever you have the chance tot tutor something, tutor a combo piece. Sometimes I made the mistake to tutor a big eldrazi cuz it's cool, but it'll help you way more to find the two pieces for the "Eldrazi Horde" combo and cast all your eldrazi for example.

Disclaimer:
The following combo's are noted in perfect conditions. In practice a combo sequence might play out differently to be optimal or you might have a prerequisite in hand that makes the combo sequence suboptimal but still worth it.

Note:
Combo's with a star ( * ) require Ancestral Statue and are really strong.

Spew out Eldrazi

Tutor X Eldrazi from mana cost to +X and cast for free

Prerequisites:
(X + 1) + 3 + in hand Fierce Empath and 1 free spell to cast + 4 counters on Animar

Combo sequence:
Cast Fierce Empath into tutor Tidespout Tyrant. Cast the free spell, return Fierce Empath with Tidespout's ability. Recast for X to tutor Eldrazi from CMC to + X CMC.

Note 1:
With cards on the BF like Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma, Conduit of Ruin, Herald of Kozilek, Eldrazi Temple or Eye of Ugin you can look up higher CMC eldrazi way earlier, broadening your tutor options.

Note 2:
If people are eager on destroying your engine, look up last Conduit of Ruin to put Artisan of Kozilek on the top of your library. Next turn you can cast this for free and return whatever creature was destroyed. Or just look up Draining Whelk instead of Conduit of Ruin as your last card if you're afraid they'll bounce Animar or boardwipe.

An extra three turns

Play your turn while someone else is playing.

Prerequisites:
When passing the turn you need on the BF Seedborn Muse and either Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir or subomptimal Alchemist's Refuge. Some sort of cardadvantage would also be needed, preferably Vizier of the Menagerie, Beast Whisperer, Primordial Sage or Soul of the Harvest.

Combo Sequence:
This is pretty straight forward. Cast creatures for 3 turns until it's your turn again. Do wait with casting creatures until your opponents end step as they might feel pressured to do something against you with all that mana open. When the turns have passed around you have so many creatures on the board you might aswell call it a game.

Eldrazi Horde*

Cast all the Eldrazi in the deck.

Prerequisites:
2 + 2 + in hand Ancestral Statue and card draw(like Primordial Sage) + 3 counters on Animar

Combo Sequence:
Cast carddraw(like Primordial Sage) for 2, then recast Ancestral Statue until you draw Ogre Battledriver. Cast Ogre Battledriver for 2. Meanwhile the recasting of Ancestral Statue gave Animar, Soul of Elements 15+ counters. Now draw your entire deck (be careful for self milling), cast all the Eldrazi for free, Ogre Battledriver gives them haste and +2/+0 making you able to deal tons of damage right this turn.

Notes:
Casting Gaea's Herald before casting Ogre Battledriver in this sequence might even make it more worthwhile. Also Beast Whisperer would be suboptimal as he forces you to draw, this requires some planning.

Clear the way for Animar*

Potentially bounce everyones' board back to their hands and one shot your fellow player with commander damage

Prerequisites:
In hand Ancestral Statue + on battlefield Tidespout Tyrant + 4 counters on Animar.

Combo sequence:
The combo sequence is a loop of casting Ancestral Statue, increasing the counter of animar by 1, returning a potential blocker from opponent to it's hand with Tidespout Tyrant's Ability. Undergo this sequence atleast 16 times to make Animar, Soul of Elements a 21/21 (one-shot due to commander damage). Go to combat and feel the power of one shotting someone. The opponent can't even block because you bounced all his or her creatures.

Notable variation 1:
Add Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir and Deadeye Navigator to the mix paired to Ancestral Statue so when opponents do threatening things you can oppress them. Only pay for infinitely recasting Ancestral Statue and do a huge Cyclonic Rift effect on them due to Tidespout Tyrant's Ability.

Notable variation 2:
Just boardwipe everyone, also bouncing their lands, lol.

An endless amount of turns*

Take over someones turn infinitely

Prerequisites:
Tidespout Tyrant + Ancestral Statue + Emrakul, the Promised End + 4 counters on Animar +

Combo Sequence:
Cast Ancestral Statue 9 times, then cast Emrakul, the Promised End. Take over someones turn next time they would take a turn. Now cast Tidespout Tyrant. Keep bouncing Emrakul, the Promised End back and forth with Ancestral Statue taking over someones turns infinitely. hihi

Vizier of the Menagerie:
This card is meant for decks like this. Paired with Oracle of Mul Daya you'll be able to pull so many creatures from your deck. It's insane.

Toothy, Imaginary Friend:
This is just an amazing card. It tutors for Pir, Imaginative Rascal. Toothy paired with Deadeye Navigator will enable you to draw so many cards. With Pir on the BF and activating Deadeye Navigator, will make you draw x*2^y cards, where x is the amount of starting counters and y the amount of times you activated deadeye navigator. This could potentially make you draw 40 cards in one turn making Toothy, Imaginary Friend an 81/81.

Spearbreaker Behemoth, Protean Hulk:
Boardwipes are the biggest of threats to this deck. These two guys help you back up after living to see one. Spearbreaker Behemoth will generally serve to protect Animar, Soul of Elements. You don't want to be building up all those extra counters again!
With Protean Hulk it's good to consider what you might wanna grab for a total 6 CMC, maybe a Bane of Progress to set back that annoying enchantment/artifact user. Maybe get a Fauna Shaman and Beast Whisperer. When summoning sickness is over, tutor Ancestral Statue and combo out by casting all your eldrazi this turn with haste (Combo: Eldrazi Horde). Maybe consider Gaea's Herald instead of either if you've already got card draw or ancestral statue in hand. You could also grab a Shaman of the Great Hunt with some other stuff to activate his ability and kill most of the players who haven't built board fast enough.

Glen Elendra Archmage, Shaman of the Great Hunt:
These two cards will enable you to have a counter spell ready every turn, by putting a counter on Glen every combat phase with the Shaman's ability. Insane!
