White adds some nice redundancy to the deck: Knight of Autumn is a good backup Rec Sage, Eledamri's call is a second copy of all your creatures, KOTR is yet another way to find lands and so on. The other cards make the deck a bit more midrangey and give it protection vs wraths and spot removal.
