Sac/value engine. Sac on every players turn to have explosive capability on my turn. The more players the more effective. Not a lot of instant and sorceries because I want everything to be "on a stick". If someone drops a field wipe, in response I sac everything. Then at end of turn it comes back thanks to Marchesa, the Black Rose. My modular creatures allow me to sac other artifact creatures all the time, once per players turn to be precise. Being able to re-field Wurmcoil Engine, Myr Battlesphere, Sphinx Summoner, Solemn Simulacrum, and Duplicant on every players turn, not just after I swing and put a counter on them with dethrone, gets really out of hand really fast. Flayer of the Hatebound, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and Marionette Master all make this worth engine into a killing engine. Otherwise, it's protection for Marchesa, good creatures, sac outlets, draw and ramp. My goal is to safely field Marchesa, the Black Rose turn 4(ish) then everything stays on the field. Eventually all the accrued value will ping/outlast the enemies. Thoughts?
Sac outlets: Bloodflow Connoisseur, Arcbound Ravager and Carrion Feeder are the best for stable and reliable play because they put +1/+1 counters on themselves. Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar give you silly ramp and play potential. Goblin Bombardment ends up doing a surprising amount of damage. Altar of Dementia, Spawning Pit, Viscera Seer, Phyrexian Plaguelord (sometimes swapped out for Grimgrin, Corpse-Born) and Bloodthrone Vampire round out my sac outlets ensuring I have one when needed and providing some nifty little tools.
River Kelpie, Mindless Automaton, Grim Haruspex and Skullclamp make up the majority of my draw. Dark Confidant is a great draw tool for the early game that has some good synergy for later. There are a few artifact creatures that draw when they enter/leave (Baleful Strix and Solemn Simulacrum) and if the engine starts humming along then so do they. The real bang for your buck comes from Sphinx Summoner and Rune-Scarred Demon. Sphinx enters and I search for Arcbound Worker if i don't already have an arcbound thing. Demon enters and I search for Vigean Graftmage. Voila, now on every players turn I'm pulling exact answers or tools I need directly to hand.
Coalition Relic, Chromatic Lantern, and Talisman of Dominance are all for the early game really and mana fixing later, I admit that Talisman of Dominance could be swapped for a Sol Ring but I like that I can get that colored mana for Marchesa if need be. The 2 mana altars (Phyrexian Altar and Ashnod's Altar) are fairly straight forward, they're sac outlets first and do wonderful things for ramp second. Cathodion, Black Market, Pawn of Ulamog and Workhorse get me really excited for the mana ramp because of how many counters and sacs are going on already. But what I really want when playing is to just stop caring what the cost of spells is and start dropping my entire hand. Or with Sneak Attack I just drop as many creatures as I have red mana main phase 1 and swing with them. Sometimes they don't even make it to combat though because they feed straight into the engine. Rakdos, Lord of Riots can do that for you. But then you're like, "Slim_chanc3, people have to lose life and he's not an artifact." To which, you're right. But with the amount of colorless artifacts buzzing around and the fact that his ability will pay for commander tax if needed more than makes up for those issues. But hey, I hear you. More artifacts because we're using a lot of those:Clone Shell and Deathrender.
Primary form of protection for Marchesa is herself. For her to do that though she needs a counter. Once people know she's the key to your engine they want her gone, really badly. I don't have a lot to deal with counterspells, noted weakness. However I can put counters on her as she enters the battlefield with cards like Vigean Graftmage and Metallic Mimic. Unspeakable Symbol can put them on her at instant speed. Spellskite can eat up spells all day as I make it the target of kill and exile spells. Being an artifact he tends to stay on the field through the worst of it. Phyrexian Revoker can help me prevent threats to her already on the board that I can't just remove. Pyreheart Wolf lastly is probably my favorite. Dethrone doesn't always proc for you, it's sad but true. But, giving Marchesa menace makes it much more likely people are just going to let her swing. Pyreheart Wolf is also made to be sacrificed over and over and over due to his undying, further fueling the engine.
Myr Retriever+Junk Diver+Deathrender let me infinitely sac. Depending on my engines current speed means unlimited damage, mill, mana, +1/+1 counters, draw, or creatures.
Duplicant gives the deck single target exile all day long. Butcher of Malakir and Ruthless Deathfang both give me sac control I can put +1/+1 counters on. Dack's Duplicate, Clone, and Phyrexian Metamorph all give me more copies of other great creatures. Reef Worm I like because of all the cascading tokens you can create. Sepulchral Primordial, Myr Retriever, and Junk Diver give me a little recursion.
I would like to have some kind of reliable ways to deal with players graveyards while leaving mine intact. Also looking for ways to deal with enemy artifacts or enchantments. Cards that currently aren't preforming as well as the rest and might be good swaps are:

  1. Cathodion - Later game I need colors. Pure and simple. He is an artifact. He does play well with my Modular creatures. Board state I try to set up has Rakdos, Lord of Riots out though. He's just not doin' it for me.
  2. Bloodthrone Vampire - for casting cost is what I like. My issue is that the +2/+2 she gets usually isn't a significant contribution to winning. She just doesn't swing often. Looking for other possible sac utility.
  3. Dark Confidant - Great card for early draw. Thinking of swapping with Sage of Fables because she protects Marchesa, the Black Rose and gives me a shot at some draw.
  4. Treasonous Ogre - Marchesa, the Black Rose Loves to have less life than you, and she likes to do it on her terms. He rarely actually contributes to my likelihood of winning, just makes it so if I do win, it's even bigger. Possible swap is Thermopod. or maybe just a board wipe like Jokulhaups.
Thank you for your time. I look forward to hearing your opinions/advise.
