This is a Renown/Counter stack deck that I built at origins release. I slapped the rough draft together an hour before FNM. When I use it, I have went 4-1 three weeks in a row at FNM! I built the deck so when one creature dies there is another to take its place that can be just as tough. Kind of a next man up type of thing.

Its all about getting your Hardened Scales out. You literally have a significantly greater chance to win if it is present on your board. Renown is a much better mechanic than most would think. The Citadel Castellan along with Undercity Troll put in a good body of work in this deck.

Outlast has straight forward won me games and I had no problem oulasting. After some testing the Abzan Falconer is definitely the outlaster you want in MB, mostly because you can just drop him and fly for win. Hangarback Walker is your pump when you can guy. Leave him to defend until the end of your opponents turn then pump him if you have the mana. If your opponent doesn't have exile cards walker gets scary =). As a side note, every game Hangarback has been destroyed (not exile) I have one the game. Seriously every time.

Brave the Sands is great, i like how balanced it is. After some study I have decided to run vigilance in my agro decks because the mechanic just wins. Managorger Hydra builds crazy fast and i like to protect it if i can. If Hardened Scales is on your board you will commonly see a 10+ hydra before he dies or you win. Servant of the Scale has gotta be my favorite one drop for counters. As long as you control another creature its not a problem to lose him. Avatar of the Resolute wins games. Even if you play avatar and dont get counters a 3/2 for 2 is ok w/ me. i'm liking Den Protector so far but only at 2.

Ready for rotation so all ya need to do is switch 4 lands and you are good to go. Swap out a couple land cards and a few high costers like Hangarback Walker for another renown or 2 and this is a good budget deck.
