This is my very first deck, bought a starter deck a almost a week ago on my birthday and want to try going to a friday night magic game.
This deck revolves around stacking a ton of counters and killing the opponent as fast as you can. Clearshot and murder are used to clear cards you might not be able to handle with low counters. Swell of growth can be used to bring more mana onto field if low. Mostly use undergrowth champion to tank and replenish it with (add counters to target monster) cards. Any tips or recommendations would be nice but I don't have money for the $20 cards that go well with this build until I get my tax return. I personally think an ideal hand for this would be 1 Fertile thicket, 1 forest, retreat to kazandu, Winding Constrictor, and 1 Implement of ferocity. This is so that you would start having steady mana flow and are setting yourself up to stacking counters whenever you draw one or hopefully you start off with one.
The sideboard is in-case the opponents you are facing have a lot of flying that needs dealt with before you faceroll enough damage onto them. Vessel if the opponent has low card count and is for sure not playing a deck that benefits from having cards exiled. Weirding wood if you are having troubles pulling out enough mana during your games and same with unbridled growth if you are unable to get a swamp or foul orchard. Blossoming if they have a control deck and you need to build enough counters to one shot without being stopped. Commencement if they are also playing aggro and they are off to a better start than you. Scrounging if you arent getting counters fast enough and obsessive skinner as well.
I have not purchased any of these cards, but these are the ones I'm looking at as they are all relatively pennies and within budget.
Thank you for taking the time to read, examine this deck, and possibly commenting.
