Copy of a copy of a copy of a copy...

Commander / EDH

sunsharior

This is a commander deck using Tamiyo, Field Researcher. Be sure to check with your friend if they allow you to play it because she is not a legal commander.

The goal of this deck if have an insane board presence with creature that double themself like Mirror-Sigil Sergeant. You draw cards with Tamiyo, activate her ultimate then go to town.

You want to play something a little "out of bound"?

You like beating face?

You love playing cards for free?

You like drawing like a maniac?

You love having so many creature on the board that your opponents give up because the math would be too long?

You are on a budget?

Look no further, boy, this deck is for you!

This is Copy of a copy of a copy of a copy... a rogue commander deck using Tamiyo, Field Researcher. Normally, she would not be a legal commander option, but we're all rebels here. Be sure to ask your teammates before doing a move like this.

So what is this deck? One day looking at cards, i came across Mirror-Sigil Sergeant. This awestruck me. You get TWICE the rhino each turns? Whoa... Now... how many cards like this exist? Then, a few hours later, i had concocted a deck so full of copy effect, doubling effect, number-of-creature-matter effect that my grin would stretch all the way to my ears.

This deck does a few things:

Ramp until you can play Tamiyo and protect her.

Jam your board with creatures that copy themself and double themselves and draw cards with Tamiyo.

Enleash Tamiyo's ultimate then play your hand for free (and also recast Tamiyo on the same turn).

Beat faces with your board full of 20+ creatures and sac all your artifacts for more card draws.

You might not like this deck if you:

Doesn't like combat.

Hate being stopped by a single board wipe.

Prefer combo.

Like to interact with opponents.

Want a competitive, faster deck.

Really like to think.

That's it! Now, let's go to over the cards of this deck. Note that this deck is currently a budget list, because that's how i roll. It win on average on turn 7-10 against 3 opponents. This put it firmly as a focused / casual deck.

The commander

Tamiyo, Field Researcher

+1: Choose up to two target creatures. Until your next turn, whenever either of those creatures deals combat damage, you draw a card.

During turn 1 and 2, you will play mana dork. Those mana dorks will protect your commander from early aggresion. You usually wants to +1 one of your dude and maybe one of your opponent's creature. Even if they successfully damage Tamiyo, you will get a card out of it. The card draw is very powerfull once you can constantly attack with the mountain of creatures you will possess.

-2: Tap up to two nonland permanents. They don't untap during their controller's next untap step.

When you want to protect Tamiyo even more, you will seldonly use this. It's good to shut down possible blocker for a kill.

-7: Draw three cards. You get an emblem with "You may cast nonland cards from your hand without paying their mana costs."

Now we're talking, as soon as you can, you will activate Tamiyo's ultimate then choose her to go back to the cammand zone and immediatly recast her with your open mana. Now you are an unstoppable machine and can proceed to cast everything you've got. Start saccing your ramp artifact to draw card because you dont need them anymore.

The beaters

Your board will get chock-full of creatures. Those beatures will be the ideal target for all the copy spells you have.

The lifegain

Early creature really good at keeping you alive, or block for your commander. You will have so many creatures enter the field, you'll end up with so much life you won't know what to do.

The doubler

If those creatures stick around long enough, no one will stand in your way! 2-4-8-16-32-64--everyone dead! An early Spawnwrithe copied uncontested will eat everyone alive, even without Tamiyo.

The protectors and accusers

This deck is a tuned-gimmicky deck and thus doesn't have a lot of answer and protection.

Knight of Autumn

Qasali Pridemage

Trygon Predator

Dauntless Escort

Make a stand

Druid's Deliverance

Emmara Tandris

Rootborn Defenses

Sundering Growth

The ramp and draw

All your signet will be used to ramp. All your lockets and cluestone will have a dual purpose of ramping you first then once you activate Tamiyo's ultimate, you will start saccing them for more draw. Stick a Mechanized Production to one of them for more draw!
