Resurrection —Aug. 26, 2018
One of my biggest regrets has been decommissioning this deck. I took it apart to try out Raff Capashen, Ship's Mage, and that deck lasted all of four games before my play group and myself grew tired of it. So I took apart that deck to do a Brago, King Eternal deck, and that deck took all of two games for my play group to tire of it (I like it, but I like having friends). The Azor deck I had was easily my favorite deck, and so now it's coming back; with a few changes!!
Out:
- 1x Island and 1x Plains Going to try reducing the land count to 35, see how that works.
- Chancellor of the Annex It's never hit the board to my recollection.
- The Immortal Sun I want to use my planeswalkers, so this is a conflict of interest. May consider replacing it, and removing the walkers in the future.
- Narset Transcendent Replacing her with Teferi for better card advantage.
- Venser's Journal Replacing this with Library of Leng.
- Felidar Sovereign Winning games with this guy is just ... anticlimactic.
- Azor's Elocutors I've never even played this card. So just ... Why?
- Pull from Tomorrow I have lots of card draw, going to swap this for the sword for land ramp.
- Thalia, Heretic Cathar She never really pulled her weight.
In:
- Sea of Clouds Mana smoothing.
- Sword of Feast and Famine Untap my lands after connecting? Now I have all the counterspells...
- Brago, King Eternal He was just too much fun as a commander, so I think he will really benefit this deck in the 99.
- Lavinia of the Tenth She is just nasty with Brago on the board.
- Teferi, Hero of Dominaria Great card advantage, untap lands, and a nasty ultimate.
- Norn's Annex More taxes are good.
- Sun Titan A little bit of recursion on a big body never hurts.
- Library of Leng Lower on the curve and better synergy with the Sun Titan.
- Sword of the Animist Additional mana ramping is good!
- Spellskite Good, old-fashioned redirect; and it has synergy with Sun Titan!
So it's time to see how this version of the deck plays!
