This deck is made to last until late game when you can lock-down an opponent with a mixture of Curse of Exhaustion and Knowledge Pool . There are many ways of getting this combo out built into the deck... Treasure Mage fetches my Knowledge Pool , and possibly the Wurmcoil Engine if need be. curse of misfortune will guarantee my curse making its way out if for some reason it doesn't end up in your hand.

To control the game and allow you to pull this combo off there is a large selection of control that are for different situations.

Of course there is Venser, the Sojourner with Stonehorn Dignitary or Phyrexian Metamorph. He also goes nicely with Oblivion Ring.

I run 3 Day of Judgment for aggro decks, and I hardly have any creature(most are for their enter the battlefield effect anyway, and Venser can protect them from the blast :P).

When the combo goes off jace, the memory adept will ensure they mill themselves first, and Gideon Jura can also slow down an aggro deck.

SIDEBOARD

Witchbane Orb doesn't effect the curses on the enemy, so I keep a few in the sideboard in case i'm playing against a burn deck.

Ratchet Bomb is obviously for those pesky tokens.

Gutshot slows down delver, and eats Birds of Paradise.

Mirran Crusader for mono green Dungrove Elderdecks.

Nihil Spellbomb for grave lovers :P

Why are you running any Curse of MisfortunesMTG Card: Curse of Misfortunes if you don't even run 4x Curse of ExhaustionMTG Card: Curse of Exhaustion? Bitterheart WitchMTG Card: Bitterheart Witch is a much better play than misfortune.

Noted and appreciated. She is a much smarter play. I was thinking about adding more black, but it may take away from the goal of the deck.

I don't think you really need Bitterheart WitchMTG Card: Bitterheart Witch since you're running 4x Curse of ExhaustionMTG Card: Curse of Exhaustion. Rather than trying to force it, just play the waiting game, which this deck appears to be really good at doing.

I love me a Knowledge PoolMTG Card: Knowledge Pool deck, in fact I, myself have been working on one for a couple weeks, Finally, a combo deck :) if ur interested.

You know that Venser, the SojournerMTG Card: Venser, the Sojourner has great synergy with Knowledge PoolMTG Card: Knowledge Pool, and can blink pool so you can play a curse.

Dice this deck is straight up UW, I think that you can afford to play Pristine TalismanMTG Card: Pristine Talisman over Sphere of the SunsMTG Card: Sphere of the Suns. Remember, even with a ramp spell, the combo goes of on turn 5(4 for venser shutout. It's also not a dead draw in the mid-late game when you are top decking.

I think a slight black splash( maybe 1 island and a dual or two) would be good so that you gain access to Forbidden AlchemyMTG Card: Forbidden Alchemy to find combo pieces, it has proven its worth in my deck. And maybe even Nephalia DrownyardMTG Card: Nephalia Drownyard to further your mill backup plan.

Also, Witchbane OrbMTG Card: Witchbane Orb DOES affect cursed on the battlefield, but only the ones attached to you. So they can kill a Curse of ExhaustionMTG Card: Curse of Exhaustion from locking you out of the game.

And of course, +1 for exploring this archtype

Hmmm...I fail to see the logic in running 4 Curse of ExhaustionMTG Card: Curse of Exhaustion other than for the drawing factor, and you already have some drawing mechanic in your deck.

I think it would be better for you to run one less Curse of ExhaustionMTG Card: Curse of Exhaustion and run another DissipateMTG Card: Dissipate. I mean, once you hit them with one CoE, another won't do you a bit of good unless they manage to remove it somehow.

Its pretty much the decks win condition. I believe having a 4th will guarantee i see it 3/4ths of the matches, and if I see a counter-spell I should be seeing one again soon.

I feel that Sphere of the SunsMTG Card: Sphere of the Suns fits the bill better... I may need a certain color of mana to help my combo go off, or for Day of JudgmentMTG Card: Day of Judgment to cast. Plus I am 99% sure Venser's bounce will return the counters to 3.

May I suggest Grand AbolisherMTG Card: Grand Abolisher? It comboes nicely with Curse of ExhaustionMTG Card: Curse of Exhaustion, to make it truely only 1 spell per (their) turn.

feel this deck is too many heavy, it rly comes down to a very very good draw...

but i guess its a good deck if you start with 2 counterspells and a day of judgement

+1 for the nice little combo here

I do like that graveyard casting is not effected by the Knowledge PoolMTG Card: Knowledge Pool, therefore I could still use my Increasing ConfusionMTG Card: Increasing Confusion to mill my opponent (or myself depending on strategy... Laboratory ManiacMTG Card: Laboratory Maniac anyone?)

Only thing I could think to add is a DismemberMTG Card: Dismember to hose whatever they may have out on the battlefield, so you can walk in for victory more easily.

Have you thought about adding a Dissipation FieldMTG Card: Dissipation Field or 2? It's really good, because it can kill those pesky tokens that get through. It combined with Curse of ExhaustionMTG Card: Curse of Exhaustion is really mean. It will keep them at bay for a long time. I use the synergy between them in my Turbo Fog deck, and it's safe to say i'm satisfied with it.

Great deck. Some tournaments will disqualify players if they purposely drag a match on too long, but as long as this deck eliminates them in a timely fashion, still. Good stuff.

No mean to hate but the deck is not consistent enough you planeswalkers die to Hero's Downfall even though you have Mirran Crusader its weak to blue and white its too slow against blue red not enough removal for black green white but this might be good against black green if you want you can look at my control decks if you want some more ideas, add Path to Exile Meddling Mage Isochron Scepterand Silence

I might consider adding Wall of Denial. Render Silent is rather useful as well.
