This is my current edh deck.

It centers around casting Azami, Lady of Scrolls early and controlling board state until I draw Mind Over Matter.

my card choices for the time being are for the american ban list. I'm currently making choices for the replacements of Sol Ring and Sensei's Divining Top for when i play in french 1v1 tournaments.

starting with the creatures

1 cmc

Cosi's Trickster its a 1 drop wizard that can end up becoming a tank and a target for your opponents to get off the board. ramping is a big thing in my meta.

2 cmc

Etherium Sculptor borderline being cut. it makes my sol ring and top cost less, but it's not a wizard and he doesn't do anything else.

Snapcaster Mage staple wizard. it took me a while to slide him in here. he allows me to re-use my counterspells or my dig spells.

Stonybrook Banneret if it wasnt a 2 drop, it'd be cut. she has islandwalk and makes my wizards cheaper. she allows me to get my commander out a turn earlier.

Vedalken AEthermage i hardly ever cast her. she searches my library at instant speed for teferi or Venser or even Azami if she gets tucked.

Voidmage Prodigy counterspell on a dude. sure you end up saccing a dude, but to keep threats off the board and wasting cards in hand, he's worth the slot

Ertai, Wizard Adept another counterspell on a dude. i tend to like the hard counters more than the tax counters, so his ability is extremely useful.

Laboratory Maniac one of the main win cons of the deck. you can either use Stroke of Genius or Blue Sun's Zenith to deck yourself with this guy out

Graceful Adept pretty harmless, but she's a wizard that nets me an infinite hand size and in this deck, she's really invaluable.

AEther Adept she returns a threatening creature or a useful creature, like Venser , to my hand.

Trinket Mage invaluable in american. he generally gets Sol Ring or divining top on turns 2-3 and start ramping or digging.

Thassa, God of the Sea she's my back up commander. comes in 2 turns earlier, scry's every turn, and is indestructible.

4 cmc

Glen Elendra Archmage 2 Negates on a dude. generally a target to get off the board. she gets returned by the AEther Adept to reset.

Sower of Temptation seeing as blue got it's kill spells removed, the new legend rule, the best way to deal with generals is to just take them. sower is quite possibly one of the more powerful wizards in the deck.

Archaeomancer he gets back what Snapcaster doesn't want to exile. invaluable.

Master of Waves generally aggro control.

Venser, Shaper Savant besides Azami, he's the best wizard in the deck.

5 cmc

Azami, Lady of the Scrolls most of the time, my commander. she ends up drawing more cards than i can handle.

Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir top 3 wizards. he locks out your opponents. leaves the control up to you.

Beguiler of Wills oddly useful. the deck is based off of creatures, so she ends up taking at minimum a 3 or 4 power creature.

Psychosis Crawler on the verge of being cut, but when you start drawing 5-10 cards a turn, it ends up really hurting in pods.

6 cmc

Arcanis the Omnipotent draws one card the when he first comes out, then starts drawing 3. accelerates the combo with Mind Over Matter

7 cmc

Palinchron another card on the cutting board. he's there for the infinite mana.

moving on to the planeswalkers

jace bleren he drops quickly and either garners fellowship or hatred depending on what ability i use first.

Tezzeret the Seeker tutors up artifacts in a slower game. ends up being a tartget most of the time.

next are the enchantments

Leyline of Anticipation most of the mono blue decks i've seen don't run it. it ends up turning the game up really quickly. it sees Krosan Grip more than Sol Ring

Mind Over Matter the main win con in the deck. it has many many uses.

Omniscience this wins games. it should read: pay 10 mana, win the game.

now on to the sorceries

Ancestral Vision the only better one drops are Sol Ring or divining top

Merchant Scroll go and get any counterspell or dig spell from the deck.

Curse of the Swine again, blue lost its kill spells, so we have to fall back to replacement kills.

Fabricate search for an artifact is a powerful ability. generally nabs a mana doubler for palinchron.

Rite of Replication this card is dumb. kicked it generates 5 dudes that draw cards for me and do other nifty things.

Knowledge Exploitation i tend to get bribery or tooth and nail when i can. big bomby cards need to be cast for free.

Temporal Mastery no deck that plays blue is complete without the blue Explore

next are the artifacts

Pithing Needle shuts off nasty generals and even planeswalkers.

Sol Ring banned in french for a good reason. accelerates you 2 turns quickly.

Sensei's Divining Top best dig artifact in the format. banned in french for good reason.

Coldsteel Heart really neat mana rock. counts as a snow permanent. part of the turn 3 win combo (american only).

Extraplanar Lens best mana doubler in the format. only downside is having to play either normal lands when your opponent is playing snow-covered lands and vice versa.

Coalition Relic really good mana rock that floats mana of any color.

Mind's Eye really good draw card for american pods. if you have the mana, you draw a card every turn

Gilded Lotus really good ramp mana rock

Caged Sun anthem and mana flare all in one rock. not too bad.

next come the instants

Pact of Negation cheap Force of Will until i can get mine.

High Tide combos with Palinchron for infinite mana.

Stifle a necessary counter for abilities.

Swan Song a solid counterspell for early in the game.

Mystical Tutor almost 100% of the time it searches up Temporal Mastery . sometimes it will get a counter or another instant.

Counterspell staple for mono blue. can't not have it.

Trickbind Stifle that can't be countered.

Cyclonic Rift this card should be banned as well. it blows out your opponents and leaves your board completely intact. i love this card, but it too says, pay 7 mana and win the game.

Spell Syphon i said i don't like tax counters, but this one is generally a huge tax, so it makes the cut.

Memory Lapse puts commanders and other threats back on top. puts you ahead by one turn, generally.

Long-Term Plans this card is extremely underrated but in Azami it shines. it basically says search for a card and then draw three cards.

Faerie Trickery a hard counter that exiles.

Spell Crumple edh staple counter. tucks generals and other threats and can be reusable.

Blue Sun's Zenith one of the win cons with infinite mana

Stroke of Genius back up Blue Sun

Hinder the second staple edh counter.

Last Word awesome uncounterable hard counter.

Desertion counter a spell or steal an artifact or creature spell? worth the slot

Misdirection useful for targeting spells. especially the extra turn spells that target.

Gather Specimens counter for kiki jiki and Splinter Twin and other massive token spawns.

Commandeer Desertion but for free.

and finally the lands

Island x23 it's the card that makes the deck work. all but 4 are foil. makes me happy.

Mutavault becomes a wizard to draw a card.

Tolaria West specific land tutor or a 0 drop tutor.

Boseiju, Who Shelters All keeps my instants and sorceries from being countered.

Riptide Laboratory bounces my useful wizards back to hand.

Halimar Depths when i dont run ponder, deck manipulation isn't bad. still on the cutting board.

Seat of the Synod artifact land to tutor up with Tezzeret without hitting his loyalty.

Temple of the False God good acceleration at the right time.

Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx immediately rounded out the deck as soon as it hit. Cabal Coffers for blue.

Ghost Quarter Strip Mine replacement for french games.

Reliquary Tower a necessary evil in card draw decks.

Cavern of Souls tribal love. your creatures of that type can't be countered. worth the spot.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~Added an actual sideboard for 1v1 games. Still working on the maybe board. I've got a serious list building now.

I'm working on making it more competitive than anything. I'm looking to pick up a Mana Drain and Force of Will to complete the counter package. Beguiler of Wills was added as a whim and ended up shining like a champ. Stole opponents teferi and ran with him. Will add updates soon.
