Caged Sun only works for colored mana. Colorless can't be chosen as a color.
have you considered Thespian's Stage over Vesuva ? you can have it become Eldrazi Temple for the time being but if you get the complete set out of the urza's, you can then change it to Urza's Tower to make it produce one extra mana, and be able to cast anything not just eldrazis. just a thought in looking back at this deck.
I run Tron, and thespians stage is far more useful than Vesuva.
I really like this deck and Im looking into building one similar to it but a little bit cheaper. What are some good cards for this deck that are like under 15?
have you considered running Lightning Greaves as they can come out on turn two and can basically just mean you get hasty eldrazi so they start annihilating immediately, also works on Palladium Myr for that turn 3 Myr Superion .

you could potentially make use of a Mimic Vat if you find things are dying often. you could even exile Kozilek if someone managed to kill him, resulting in a hasty kozilek every turn for 3 mana, or draw 3 cards with 6 from the hedron as well as giving you a way to steal opponent's creatures. Also, have you considered It That Betrays ?
I wanted to make a version of the deck thats 100 dollars cheaper. Any suggestions?
If you do that, you'll cut almost $200. If you want to keep the eldrazi, then just cut karn and vesuva.

I like this deck, +1. Since you are clearly good at making decks, could you evaluate my Elf Semi-Populate. It's the first deck I've made and I wasn as much advice as I can get.
*also note that I playtested this against my elves twice. it lost one then won one, so I guess that means they're about even.
There is a reason tron runs light splashes into colors, going all in on the land urza land ramp opens you up to lose by your own deck's variance, out of 15 games of playtesting there wasn't a single hand I actually liked as it completely relies on getting the urza lands out before turn 4 and to hope you can ride the Karn to victory. Unless it's for casual games you probably shouldn't exchange resiliency and consistency for a gimmick (though I will admit doing so does work as a nice strategy to farm upvotes from people here on Tappedout).
Awesome deck. care to test it out against my deck Swarm and Conquer V 2.0? Also, I do agree with Demarge slightly. He comes off as being an asshole to be quite frank, but he does have a good point about the color thing. Pyroclasm is a must to help stop aggro decks from overrunning you.
I'd like to suggest Quicksilver Amulet if you wanted to get your creatures out extremely quickly and without waiting for the mana to ramp up --- with afew of those (I'd say maybe 3 or 4), you could get big guys like Blightsteel Colossus or your Eldrazi creatures out on turn 5 (or less if you can throw down those Palladium Myr s quickly).
If you wanted to pull out some of your Mainboard in trade for some heavy-hitting artifacts like Blightsteel Colossus or Darksteel Colossus (ect), Mycosynth Golem would be great for making your mana work a little harder for you, and has the possibility to lower the costs of all your artifacts (creatures or otherwise) to 0.
If you wanted to go with the Amulet --- I'd suggest adding in more Eldrazi creatures and other high-cost heavy hitting creatures and also: -1 Eldrazi Temple and -1 Tectonic Edge (or -2 Tectonic Edge ) for +2 Doubling Cube .
If you wanted to go with the Affinity for Artifacts --- I'd suggest slightly different land changes: -1 Eldrazi Temple and -1 Tectonic Edge (or -2 Tectonic Edge ) for +2 Eye of Ugin , and seeing if maybe you could squeeze in a few Thopter Assembly s to boost your number of Artifacts on the field.
It's a modern deck so Sol Ring is a no-go. Thank you for the suggestion, though.

Expedition Map still has good value because with the Urzatron lands in here, it's often just as important which land you have as how many. The Map is less about mana smoothing and more about tutoring a specific piece.
Quicksilver Amulet is definitely an excellent way to get your fatties down fast.

I say add 4 Darksteel Citadel because:
1.They are indestructible.
2.Imprint it on Prototype Portal so you can always have a land a turn.
3.They help with affinity for artifacts.

Why not 4 Emrakul? Also your deck needs a way to deal with aggro, particularly infect.

How 'bout Trinisphere , Lodestone Golem and Thorn of Amethyst ? They win storm decks instannly and are always greater pain to your opponent than for you due to your bigger mana production., except when opponent plays tron too. Sundering Titan is also nice addition to denial.
@Colgate: Holy crap. Those are great suggestions. I'll figure out how to get them in. Any suggestions. I know that I'll be replacing Myr Superion , Prototype Portal and Dreamstone Hedron . I want to add Etched Champion for chump blocking and I need to add something for card draw. I thought Runed Servitor or Solemn Simulacrum . What do you think?
I don't understand the point in adding Solemn Simulacrum since you have to search your library for a 'basic land card' and this deck doesn't have basic lands. The other changes, I think they are good suggestions.
@DrLakis: I added it because it allows me to draw a card when he dies when I chump block. Can you suggest another creature that would allow me to draw? I tend to run out of cards to use because of the high casting cost associated with this type of build.
why don't you just have like 5 forests, add Ancient Stirrings , and then Solemn Simulacrum will actually let you search for a land? tron decks shouldn't be all colorless, it's not beneficial at all other than being able to say "it's colorless"
If I add the Forest s and other colored cards, then the deck just becomes another Green Tron deck. I think the appeal to the deck is that it's colorless. It's what draws people it.
Is it fun to play? Absolutely. Will it when major tournament? You should bet against it but that doesn't matter. I have fun playing and building it.
If you're looking for chumpers... Wurmcoil Engine is literally the best chumper for this, at least in my opinion. Huge-ass body T3, if it dies it kills whatever killed it, gets you 6 life, then leaves 2 more chumpers on the field.
If you're going to be bringing this to something very competitive, you're going to need to watch out for Sowing Salt
You're right, for a creature + draw, that's probably the only option. To draw you could use Jayemdae Tome but you lose the blocker and its also more mana!
What about Ensnaring Bridge ? It would help to control what could attack. I wouldn't get card draw but it would quell one of my biggest worries with this deck.
Ensnaring Bridge would lock down most of your win conditions(super fat eldrazi's). With a standard max hand size of 7 and no way to take your own artifact off the board, your big Eldrazi's will never be able to attack if that is out.

I just made a change in that deck and I am still not sure about it.
Also, since you have no instants on your main board or sideboard, you should try to see if Bottled Cloister
will give you the card advantage you want.
It would be way better than your Solemn Simulacrum for draw...but you lose the chump blocker (which I dont think you need anymore of).
It would also stop decks that discard key cards from your hand in their tracks...which is VERY common in modern right now. Thoughtseize and similar. Even though sieze is only B, it will stop from them doing it late game and give you a card extra each turn...since you dont need your hand during the opponents turn, I dont see any reason to not run this card.
I would only run 2 Bottled Cloister and I would bump up Walking Atlas by 1 more. Reason I chose atlas is that if you are drawing more cards with running 26 powerful lands in your deck, I would guess you would need to make sure you are playing them when you can. That and he fixes up one of the chump blockers you let go with the other creature coming out.
After doing some research on Bottled Cloister it has a huge flaw in it. If the bottle is destroyed or put into your hand on the opponents turn, the cards that were exiled STAY EXILED...
I am not sure if its worth that kind of risk, as that would give the game away since you would no longer have any cards in hand.
My Legacy list is almost colorless with only 4 colored spell and with only 1 nonartifact spell. It doesn't have any card-drawing abilities. Modern is weaker format than Legacy so you should be able to go without card-drawing at all.
Colossus of Akros for maybeboard, or sideboard. SO huge, really easy to get with this deck.
@JexInfinite: I never thought of Colossus of Akros . However, at cmc 8, i'd rather cast one of the eldrazi fatties if I have Eye of Ugin out. If it's out, the cmc's drop to 8, 9 and 13 respectively. If it's not out, it's not a big deal either. Mana isn't too hard to come by. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Awesome deck, I always wanted to build something involving the Eldrazi. One thing I'm curious though, doesn't Lodestone Golem make it harder to get out your big Eldrazi guys? Because they aren't actually artifact creatures. Maybe the 1 extra mana doesn't matter here though
Maybe you could replace eldrazi with Wurmcoil Engine or Sundering Titan , since they're more easy to cast, don't suffer from Lodestone Golem and are also enough for winning the game. Eldrazi are just overkill.
@Rednose846: Your last sentence is the reason why I run Lodestone Golem . That and a 5/3 for 4 colorless seems to fit just right in the deck. I need to make sure that I keep the opponent in check while I get my lands out. Plus, Eye of Ugin offsets the mana increase.
@Colgate: I run the eldrazi because of nostalgia. I started playing during Worldwake so Rise of the Eldrazi was the first deck to come out after I started. Being a new player at the time, giant creatures intrigued me. That and they have always been part of the deck and I don't handle change that well.
Has Silent Arbiter been suggested yet? Since you mainly run creatures that are going to win in 1-2 hits with the Eldrazi Titans or stall out till you hit Karn. It helps stall your opponents creatures while providing more time for your finishers to hit the field. With it and lodestone golem you should always have the time you need.

At 6/12/11, would you have expected this deck getting this high in the rankings and in the state that it is in now?
This deck has been THE DECK that I dream of building when I switch from Standard to Modern. I tried it in Playtest and it doesn't seem to be fast enough though. I have no experience with Modern, but from what I've seen and been told, games seem to end around turn 3 or 4. The fastest I was able to get an Eldrazi out was turn 6 on the first Playtest, but the next 2 tries were about turn 9 or 10 and I just can't see games lasting that long.
Unless I'm completely wrong about how fast Modern really is, how does this deck survive?
P.S. I think the description would be a lot better if you removed all the "edits" and just put in the descriptions of the cards that are currently being used in the sideboard / mainboard. I can't really tell if the deck being shown is the correct deck or is missing cards.
This might be a stupid question, but if Urza's Mine or a card similar to it is summoned, wouldn't you have to wait till next turn to use its tap ability due to summoning sickness or does that only apply to creatures ?
If you have a lot of Eldrazi cards, you should try out Spawnsire of Ulamog .
