At 6/12/11, would you have expected this deck getting this high in the rankings and in the state that it is in now?
June 8, 2014 11:59 p.m.
This deck has been THE DECK that I dream of building when I switch from Standard to Modern. I tried it in Playtest and it doesn't seem to be fast enough though. I have no experience with Modern, but from what I've seen and been told, games seem to end around turn 3 or 4. The fastest I was able to get an Eldrazi out was turn 6 on the first Playtest, but the next 2 tries were about turn 9 or 10 and I just can't see games lasting that long.
Unless I'm completely wrong about how fast Modern really is, how does this deck survive?
P.S. I think the description would be a lot better if you removed all the "edits" and just put in the descriptions of the cards that are currently being used in the sideboard / mainboard. I can't really tell if the deck being shown is the correct deck or is missing cards.

This might be a stupid question, but if Urza's Mine or a card similar to it is summoned, wouldn't you have to wait till next turn to use its tap ability due to summoning sickness or does that only apply to creatures ?

If you have a lot of Eldrazi cards, you should try out Spawnsire of Ulamog .
June 27, 2014 3:35 p.m.
@ Zaane2 If you wanna play this archetype in modern just run the R/G tron it's a lot faster and more competitive
July 6, 2014 5:43 a.m.
@meke , could you link me to that deck? I'm not very familiar with Modern so I don't really know what tron is.
July 6, 2014 9:11 a.m.
http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/20-06-14-tron-green/ This is a pretty basic build.
July 6, 2014 9:45 a.m.
That would make for some great luhls.

July 6, 2014 2:11 p.m.
I was thinking you could drop 1 Spellskite as well seeing as 4 could be a little redundant and take away from firepower
July 6, 2014 2:16 p.m.
In my opinion, spawnsire doesn't do enough. Thanks for the suggestion though.

@meke Sadly, both this deck and that deck cost a low of 500$ T_T

Oh nvm I now see that Traveler's Amulet is only of basic lands.
July 7, 2014 10:50 p.m.
negative Expedition Map lets you search for tron lands the amulet says basic land.
July 7, 2014 10:53 p.m.
Hey, really like your deck. Could you add some white for Blade Splicer .
July 14, 2014 9:59 p.m.
I honestly think Quicksilver Amulet shoud be mainboard.
Let's say you assemble Tron in turn 4, plus you have any other land. Play Quicksilver, cheat Emrakul, GG.

how about Plague Myr ? I'm building a similar deck but I couldn't afford any of Karn. I enjoy the idea of this deck and am using ideas from from it. I think plague myr could help your early game a bit (have enemy aim for infect because they will go "OMFG INFECT! kill it with fire!" so you can worry about mana ramp while keeping them busy and other artifacts you listed of course lol)
November 30, 2014 8:03 p.m.
I love this deck idea but it is a bit slow for the modern format decks like affinity, infect, and the new Jeskai Ascendancy deck. It also seems pretty expensive for me.
December 1, 2014 5:32 p.m.
angeldeath why don't you just replace karn with a few infect drops then? he's by far the reason it is so expensive (besides the obvious eldrazi cards but the most is 57.99 for one emrakul and similar for kozilek)
December 14, 2014 6:14 p.m.
This is the highest ranked troll-free deck in the site +1
January 2, 2015 3:43 a.m.
How bout some Ugin the spirit dragon? Could replace a copy of Karn Liberated.
June 10, 2015 8 a.m.
What about Conduit of Ruin? It would speed up your deck and drop some of your higher cost creatures at the same time.

Torpor Orb gives you fantastic early game lock down against the current Eldrazi and Podless Company decks without bothering a single one of your creatures.
March 12, 2016 7:13 a.m.
@DomRedhawk: What am I looking to disrupt by using Torpor Orb? I happen to have a few but it has been years since I've had a chance to play it. I am currently in the middle of a massive overhaul to the creature section. Would it be better as a sideboard card or do you think I should mainboard it?
@Jack-Frost: When I get an Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, I will definitely add him and take out one Karn Liberated. I like the suggestion of Wurmcoil Engine but I'm going to add it as a sideboard card as a way of really changing things mid-round. And, as you can see, I added Conduit of Ruin and it is playtesting really well.
@Any others: What do you think of the overhaul? I think that adding Endless One gives me some fantastic options early, mid and late. Also, how did I miss Hovermyr? It is working really well for what I need it to do. Flying and vigilance is outstanding for my needs.
May 25, 2016 1:32 p.m.
Well Torpor Orb stops ETB triggers from going on the stack.
Arcbound Ravager, one of the two big threats in Affinity just dies as it enters.
Literally the only creature in your deck that gets affected is Endless One. Considering how much I've just listed that gets blown out by it you definitely want 2 somewhere in your 75. I'd be tempted to say 1xMB and 1xSB.
May 28, 2016 7:14 a.m.
@DomRedhawk: You make some fantastic points. I think I'll add at least two somewhere. Thank you for the suggestion.
May 28, 2016 6:42 p.m.
Please please please get rid of the Hovermyr. If anything, just increase your threats and spells kite but for me, just me, get rid of them.
May 28, 2016 7 p.m.
Spatial Contortion is removal. And it's 2 mana. REPLACE HOVERMYR NOW
May 28, 2016 7:04 p.m.
Warping Wail instead of Hovermyr? On the play and being an instant, you can: (a) exile Snapcaster Mage or (b) counter a Languish or Declaration in Stone or (c) put an Eldrazi Scion that can either attack or be cracked for mana on Turn 3. Meaning, a Lodestone Golem or Quicksilver Amulet at turn 3/Emrakul at turn 4.
June 12, 2016 7:38 a.m.
June 13, 2016 1:49 p.m.
Not sure how well Lodestone Golem fits as it will make eldrazi, planeswalker, and warping wail cost 1 colorless more to cast. If you are trying to make it faster I would replace that with some form of search or ramp.
June 20, 2016 10:42 p.m.
@A3therpush: Lodestone Golem is actually the most effective creature in the deck. The extra mana required for non-artifacts is almost negligible compared to slowing down my opponents. In a few cases, it has caused a loss but the wins I get from having him in the deck certainly outweighs the downside.

June 23, 2016 4:07 a.m.
All of our lands produce colorless mana. Any land that produced colorless mana () in the produces the same mana a waste does. Wastes are just a basic land type is all.
June 23, 2016 11:16 a.m.
Ah got it, I mistook it for generic mana thanks for the explanation.
June 23, 2016 2:02 p.m.
I think you might want to consider using Eternal Scourge in this build. With so much mana, recasting it again for isn't a problem and it forces your opponent to trade in order to kill it most of the time.
