Introduction

This is the first Commander deck I made (back in early 2013), and have tuned bit-by-bit over the years.

It's primarily a token deck with strong control elements (namely sacrifice effects and board wipes). It works best in any meta heavily dependent on building a good board state.

Suggestions wise, I'm looking for cards I might have missed, or anything that's strictly better then anything else I might already have. I appreciate any comments, criticisms, or suggestions, with the following addendums:

  • No suggestions for tutors please. I know the deck has a low tutor count, and it's purposeful. My meta kind of frowns on tutors (one of those Spirit of EDH deals) so we try to limit it to one or two a deck (the one for this one is Birthing Pod).
  • No infinite combos. I know Ghave shines at that, but I have a combo deck already and I kind of want to stick with the theme this one already has.
  • If you're going to suggest that I take out something, please suggest what you would put in it's place.

Thanks guys, let me know what you think.

Updates Add

Thanks go to Runicc for influencing this round of updates!

Brimaz, King of Oreskos -> Creakwood Liege

As Runicc suggested and testing revealed, Brimaz is pretty underwhelming. The token he produces almost always dies unless you're swing at an empty board, and the fact that you have to swing in the first place means you draw unnecessary hate in the early game, which this deck ties to avoid. On the other hand, I've picked up one of my old favorites Creakwood Liege in foil, so in he goes.

Farseek -> Reap and Sow

Runicc suggested that Farseek is a little too boring, and while I may not agree with the logic 100%, the recent upgrades I've put into my manabase with this version (Gaea's Cradle, Horizon Canopy, Yavimaya Hollow, and Kor Haven especially) made me feel pulling Farseek out for the global fetch plus land destruction of Reap and Sow would be a good decision.

I've realized the deck needs more swarm evasion effects, so I want to put Champion of Lambholt back in the deck and maybe try Akroma's Memorial. The next update will probably be focused around cards like these...
