Themed off of Ursula K. LeGuin's Earthsea Cycle. Working on subthemes of superfriends, enchantments, discard, and a unique combo finish. Originally it was going to be Arcane Adaptation + Shapesharer + Phage the Untouchable + True-Name Nemesis and other unblockables (like Chromium, the Mutable ) to make any of my creatures able to block in and become Phage before damage to kill my opponents. This was an allusion to all the shape changing magic and importance of True-Names in Earthsea. Realizing such a specific combo, even in a format as forgiving of complication as EDH is, seemed untenable since most of the cards did little else in the deck so I ultimately eschewed most of them for other cards that are otherwise functional but can achieve a similar goal. Phage remains but can be comboed with Fractured Identity to give everyone else a Phage so they lose the game. Another fun way to close out the game is to clone Phage with Spark Double so that it's a non-legendary Phage and then swing with all your unblockable creatures and cast Mirrorweave before damage to make all your creatures into non-legendary Phages.

Besides those combos, this deck is an esper reanimator list with every card meant as a literary allusion to one of my favorite series of books of all time: Earthsea.
