NOTE: This deck will take a big hit from the fall rotation. However, I think Eldritch Moon and the next block should provide enough cards to keep this archetype going once fall rotation hits.
Standard Mono-Red Aggro. Simply lots of creatures with burn and pump spells.
FNM 11/13/15: 2-1
Round 1: GB Aristocrats (2-0)
Sacrificing creatures to
Nantuko Husk
could not stop me from quickly killing my opponent in both games.
Round 2: Grixis Dragons (2-1)
In Games 1 and 3, opponent didn't last long enough to get any dragons. In Game 2, he quickly resolved a Kolaghan, the Storm's Fury and
Silumgar, the Drifting Death
, which killed me in a couple of turns.
Round 3: Dark Jeskai (0-2)
In Game 1, I got mana flooded and died to a couple Mantis Riders. In Game 2, I got my opponent down to 3 life before he cast 4
Ojutai's Command
in a row, gaining 16 life. No way to win from there.
FNM 12/18/15: 1-1-1
Round 1: Esper Control (1-1-1)
In Game 1, my opponent cast his playset of
Ojutai's Command
as well as two
Planar Outburst
and easily killed me with a Shambling Vent. In Game 2, won on turn 5 with some huge Monastery Swiftspears. In Game 3, my opponent cast four commands again, but neither player could pull off a victory before time ran out.
Round 2: Eldrazi Aggro (1-2)
In Game 1, two
Ghostfire Blade
d
Sludge Crawler
s caused me to chump all my goblins and lose shortly thereafter. Game 2 in this round was similar to Game 2 against Esper Control in that I won very quickly. In Game 3, two Impact Tremors got my opponent down to 1 life, but his flying thopters from Hangarback Walker stole the game.
Round 3: GR Ramp (2-0)
This deck is just way too slow to put up a match.
