Main idea of this deck is causing chaos, be it through all those crazy enchantments, wheel effects, discards or insane sorceries like Warp World.This deck isn't all about playing to win, it is about "playing" part in playing MtG. However, it has it's ways to win, be it raw damage, soft locking board or opponents scooping to Scrambleverse.

While playing this deck, be prepared for a lot of laughts, fun and a nice dose of hate from all those nasty Spikes that are getting more mad tham I already am. It is completely like "In the Hall of the Mountain King", it starts slowly, but at the end there is such mess that it is hard to control it.

I'll take you around this Lab and show few things and tricks. It is very dangerous here, so make sure you are holding my hand tightly and lets get started!

First of all, sweet mana! I don't like when I do not have enought of any of those...

I'm not going to go over each land here, because I'm testing this base at this moment (there may be too many of them). Main thing is I don't wanna get mana screwed often, so added lots of dual lands at the cost of most of them being "late" lands.

Only one worth mentioning is Tolaria West which is used to get Maze of Ith. It is important land, may even inlcude Map to make it more avaiable, but what should I cut...

... and right there are few machines that also takes care of supply of mana here.

This deck runs all three avaiable signets, Thran Dynamo because I'm really used to it and Thought Vessel instead of Mind Stone because with Ludevic we get to draw a lot.

Now this way, where the light come from...

Those are tools I use. Brewing tables, vials, electro conductors...

  • Brand - Popping it right after casting (or after resolving) Scrambleverse or Thieves' Auction is really crazy. Focus on their permaments, You are getting yours back anyway.

  • Mana Geyser - Goes infinite with Reiterate and is really fun with Epic Experiment. Enables CMC heavy enchantments earlier.

  • Maze of Ith - Shuts down those pesky aggro and voltron decks, while being late with 1 mana in EDH doesn't mean that much.

  • Muddle the Mixture - Despite access to counterspells, this is only counterspell here. I don't want to stop other players directly, so copy spells are my form of control (copy counter spell that counters your spells for defense) Use to stop wipes or just transmute into Krark's Thumb.

  • Propaganda - Just to make sure that in all that chaos it is better to attack someone else than me.

  • Rhystic Study - Lots of draw in multiplayer games.

  • Sensei's Divining Top - This card is gold in EDH. Even more in this deck, but I'll explain it in The only action worth taking is one with an unknown outcome. section.

  • Treasonous Ogre - Lots of cards in this deck are really expensive in term of CMC. 3 life for R might be a lot, but .. we are mad, so why care about life when You can drop few layers of chaos in one turn.

... well, of course those doesn't work EVERY time... but when they do...

  • Fiery Gambit - Despite being single use, I really love this card. Probability for winning 3 flips in a row is very low, but effects are great.

  • Game of Chaos - Fun to play this and pick opponent that is willing to push it forward, not cut it as soon as possible. In my playgroup, we agree that we do around ~10 flips and after that winner decides if we keep going.

  • Goblin Game - Grab your library and hide few cards! Just joking, best way to resolve this is to secretly write down numbers and reavel them at once.

  • Impulsive Maneuvers - People are rather greedy and always hope they will do double damage.

  • Karplusan Minotaur - Use to equalize player with highest life total. Whenever you loose a flip, pick a player that would do the same as you.

  • Planar Chaos - People really HATE this. It often dies at my upkeep, but is fun to use.

  • Krark's Thumb - THIS. JUST THIS. At first look, it simply increases your chance to win a flip. But what if I actually want to lose it? Thumb keeps Planar Chaos for longer. With Impulsive Maneuvers, even if they are attacking, you flip a coin. You are being attacked? Make it 0, at least in 75% of cases. Might also get politicial if You want to help poor players being attacked. Was also using Tide of War but it actually stopped players from attacking in blockers at all.

...it really gets inspiring to experiment more and more...

...add this... and this... mix with that... oh, not that one... it's getting hot... and it gurgles... RUN!

... Uf, that was close! I'm mad? You must be overacting. Now go this way, down the stairs... It's dark? The lights... 'cought' Yeah, they must have broken...

CALM DOWN! Those belts are only for your safety! STOP SCREAMING! I can't focus at all!

NOW YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS! THERE IS NO WAY BACK.

Now everything is going to be easier... life is gonna be simplier... I know that may feel... empty... like if You were missing something IMPORTANT... Your thoughts are echoing in your skull? Thats normal...

This deck doesn't have straight forward strategy to win. There are few combos that make it easier, cards that disctracts enemies and suggest them to attack someone else.

Updates

So, I've done it. I've remade this deck and changed commanders. Now we have Ludevic, Necro-Alchemist with Vial Smasher the Fierce. They fit this theme PERFECTLY. And adding black to color pie allows me to do some more mad stuff.

Description was also revamped to fit the theme more. I hope You like it!

Thanks raffess, I will definitely keep those in mind, however few of those lands are quite pricey and it will take time until I get those.

Also, aren't Evolving Wilds, Terramorphic Expanse and Grixis Panorama just too much of fetch lands for only 4 bascis? Wilds and Expanse are dead cards if I were to draw them and basics.

Rabid_Wombat I've been considering Festival but it would shorten the games a lot and EDH games should last for hours. But thanks for suggestion!

Wow. There is a lot of insanity here, love it. I'm afraid I probably won't have much to add to this... But here it goes.

Jhoira of the Ghitu- great chaos card and allows for some extremely crazy turns if you set up right. You could have your biggest and craziest spells all come out in the same turn lol.

Dualcaster Mage, Kess, Dissident Mage- recast some of the crazy.

Ral Zarek- The only planeswalker that seems very chaosy.

Indomitable Creativity, Mind's Dilation, Enter the Infinite, Hive Mind, Omniscience- big dumb silly things that could work here.

Swarm Intelligence- cause why not?

Clone Legion- you don't have many creatures but maybe your opponents do?

I've been speaking about Jhoira in earlier comments (see archive). Mage and Maginess?? won't fit into deck since I want to keep it low with creatures and letting in only my pet cards. Ral Zarek would be nice include with Krark's Thumb, but as mentioned before, deck is low on creatures which means Planeswalkers will get stomped.

In terms of spells, Indomitable Creativity might actually find place in this deck. Mind's Dilation is in testing phase, it works really nice with Vial Smasher, however it has high CMC, gonna see after more testing.

EtI and Omniscience are both cards I dislike in , not to mention Omniscience being too expensive for me atm.

Hive Mind was in first version of this deck, but got replaced with Curse of Echoes that also was later replaced. It is crazy, but it too often ends bad for me. Swarm Intelligence was considered, but can't find anything worth excluding to put it in.

I just prefer Insurrection over Clone Legion, first one can kill, while the latter only targets one player.

This neat deck sadly takes forever to get started, you might want to add in more mana acceleration. I play tested it a bunch but the deck didn't do much of anything for the first 8 turns or so. Don't get me wrong, dynamo and signets are good, but in such a high cmc deck you need more ways to ramp up into your spells.

Overall I really like where this is going, +1......

griffstick I've made my own .css file and loaded it from dropbox, it requires some knowledge of HTML and ability to read page source and overwriting it using said .css file. Probably some day I'll make tutorial to at least some part of this.

Jebanator Thats actually strange that it took ~8 turns to start going on. Since I changed to Partners combo, deck started to be faster and more consistent with "doing anything". From my experience with it so far (15-20 games in this setup), it gets started at most at turn 5, dropping some nasty enchantments. Mana curve also shows that it isnt that bad (I'm actually surprised how good it looks). Also remeber that this is still casual deck (but hey, it really disturbes tier 1.5 decks) and there is no need to be faster than that I guess.
