I kinda want to build a hate deck against this with Wormfang Manta , Venser, the Sojourner and Torpor Orb lol. Just kidding though.

In all seriousness you are playing the colors for Venser, the Sojourner in a deck that seems almost custom made for him. Why no inclusion? :P

He is the only planeswalker I can't stand. There I said it. I have always had bad luck playing him. Never can get him out when I need him and he disappears from the battlefield quickly. In fact most planeswalker in my meta recieve a lot of hate. But Venser sees the most. W/U is a very hated color pie where I'm from.

I might* and I mean might, give him another try, but only as a proxy. To tell you the truth though, he never even crossed my mind when I started on this deck. But I will try to play him one more time.

Not too familiar with Hero, but can you use Flickerwisp and Stonecloaker in it?

I'd probably chose Stonecloaker over Flickerwisp because of the mana. 1WW is hard to pay for. And Stonecloaker stops reanimator combos. Thanks for the help. I really like the 3/2 flying/flash body.

You should check it out. I added a link to how to build/play Hero in the update. If your a fan of EDH playing but really don't care for the really long games, Hero might be the format for you.

Glad I could be of some help!

I think green could be a fun addition with even very simple spells like card:Ranger's Guile or Sheltering Word could be awesome. Other things like Vines of Vastwood , Might of the Masses and similar could also be hilarious fun.

Clearly, dealing with the potential blow-back of pumping your enemies could be 'difficult' but a simple spell like Artful Dodge would get you into the clear on multiple occasions. Cackling Counterpart could also double your creatures (or more) which could just win you the game sometimes. Even seemingly pathetic spells like Fleeting Distraction could become almost strictly better than any draw spell ever as you draw heaps of cards. The only worry, with that sort of thing, being that you have to regulate how often you cast that sort of spell to avoid decking yourself. haha

Overall, I think that Ink-Treader Nephilim could be a fantastic Hero and that the main worry about it is simply making it so that you can give all creatures either hexproof (they won't be able to target their creatures anymore, lol ) or Shroud would at the drop of a hat. After all, the rewards could be ENORMOUS but the blowout of losing everything to a Doom Blade or similar would be rather saddening.

I'm that kinda Johnny player, that if I can get to just work once, say every 15 games, i'd call it a victory. Ink-Treader Nephilim is my kind of bet-all scenario.

So' I'm thinking some sets of 1 drop instants , like Cloudshift , for a base of the color pie. I.ecard:Ranger's Guile. I'd be looking at Assault Strobe as my red (Haha Double Strike to all!). And Fleeting Distraction wouldn't be bad. Artful Dodge would be devastating after Cloudshift with Flame-Kin Zealot on the field. Not to mention any other big baddies.

Maybe Stave Off for protection? Ha funny stuff. This deck could really take off.

At first i saw this and thought "the unreliability is killing me" but then saw that crazy stuff the nephilim could do... O.O meep!!!

It's only as unreliable as your attention span during the game. If you are focused, no matter how the stack resolves, (Most of the time) You always come out on top as long as you keep targeting him.

First, a disclaimer. I have no knowledge of the Hero format, but you can use my comments insofar as they relate. I am basing this off of EDH.

First, I want to congratulate you on what looks like is an effective deck with or without your Ink-Treader Nephilim , which is quite a feat considering how pivotal he can be. I like the flickering aspect.

My main point of advise is to pay attention to what will be a legal target for your spells when they bounce off of Ink-Treader. For instance, Cloudshift and Ghostly Flicker will only target your creatures if cast on Ink-Treader, whereas Otherworldly Journey targets the entire targetable board, along with other options such as Turn to Mist or even the old standard of Flicker . I would actually recommend the board-targeting examples, because they are effective at dealing with tokens, if your opponent has any.

My last suggestion is to throw in another cheap spell that cantrips, such as Leap , to draw some extra cards off of Ink-Treader, or even to take the edge off of your opponent's flyers.

The point with the flicker effect with Cloudshift and Ghostly Flicker was to focus specificaly on my own stuff. I don't them to benefit from my stuff. Magma Spray and Otherworldly Journey are designed for token removal. No graveyard bonuses and the simply don't come back.

I was thinking Leap or Jump or something like that for flying. Cantrips are alright but I don't want to draw myself out too much.
