Chainer (real name Mazeura) Was the first Legendary creature I ever opened, and what a legend it was. With him came the ability to rip any creature out of any graveyard at instant speed, multiple times if you can pay for it, and pump them to boot. So how could I not build a deck around him? It break's down as follows.

• Chainer Enablers: Chainer's ability eat's through life and mana like nobody's business, so we need life gain and mana ramp to make up for it. For mana ramp I have Solemn Simulacrum and Burnished Hart to provide repeatable land fetching while Jet Medallion lowers the cost of my spells. In turn Black Market, Crypt Ghast and Magus of the Coffers provide free black mana while Ashnod's Altar and Pawn of Ulamog provide colorless. Besides that Deathgreeter, Falkenrath Noble and Blood Artist can make use of the constant death that this deck can perpetuate. High Market, Disciple of Bolas and Disciple of Griselbrand can serve a sac outlet, Noxious Gearhulk and Consume Spirit can double as removal and Palace Siege can be recursion if lifedrain isn't necessary. Finally Blood Tithe and Gray Merchant of Asphodel can gain me a large amount of life from each opponent at once.

• Grave Fillers: Keeping threats off the board and in the 'yard, where they can become mine. Abyssal Gatekeeper, Fleshbag Marauder, Slum Reaper, Butcher of Malakir and Grave Pact can force players to continuously sacrifice their own creatures. In turn Avatar of Woe, Eater of Hope, Nekrataal, Shriekmaw, Royal Assassin, Phyrexian Plaguelord, Reaper from the Abyss and Tragic Slip can provide more targeted removal. Augur of Skulls and Sadistic Hypnotist can force the player to discard while Altar of Dementia, Mindcrank and Undercity Informer can mill their decks, providing more targets for chainer and/or removing potentially threatening spells from the equation. Lastly for board sweepers I have Life's Finale and Mutilate, the former of which can rip the three choicest creatures out of a players library and into their (vary vulnerable) graveyard, The latter of which can get around indestructible and scores extra flavor points depending on which version you're using.

• Death Triggers: Things will die a lot, Harvester of Souls, Ogre Slumlord, Grim Haruspex and Overseer of the Damned exist to take advantage of that. Vampiric Rites, Reprocess, Viscera Seer, Sidisi, Undead Vizier, Corpse Augur and Thoughtpicker Witch don't even have to wait for things to die, serving as sac outlets. Yahenni, Undying Partisan in particular can become a game ender in their own right with the constant pump they provide themselves.

• Recursion: For whenever Chainer is not available I can use Dutiful Attendant/Mortuary Mire to grab my creatures and Beacon of Unrest/Sepulchral Primordial to grab everyone else's. Champion of Stray Souls, Victimize and Dread Return can also serve as sac outlets.

• Utility: For everything else that needs to be done. For non-creature removal I have Argentum Armor and Lux Cannon, with Withered Wretch taking care of problem cards in graveyard's. While not actually removal itself Arcane Lighthouse can assist by removing the protection that shroud and hexproof provide. Conversely Swiftfoot Boots and Whispersilk Cloak can provide that protection to my most important creatures (namely Chainer). Finally Insidious Dreams (also flavorful) can allow me to control my next several draws and Profane Command is a multi-purpose tool box card that allow's me to mix and match ability's as the situation demands.
