This is a Najeela hatebear stax kiki combo deck using prime spreaker vannifar and birthing pod to fetch kiki combos from under stax using derevi, felidar guardian, breaching hippocamp, and karmic guide. Can kiki combo from pod or vannifar starting with any 2 or 3 cmc creature. Derevi serves as an untapping 3-drop for vannifar/pod lines as well as a combo piece for Najeela. We’re also playing druids repository as an additional Najeela combo piece over nature’s will because repository breaks parity under stax.

Plays lots of stax and hatebear silver bullets and asymmetrical hate to buy a couple turns to combo. The deck aims to combo off turn 4-6 through heavy stax.

COMBOS:

VANNIFAR: Vannifar needs to be cast and protected for a turn. On your next turn, sac any 2 cmc creature to get derevi and untap vannifar. Sac derevi to get breaching hippocamp and untap vannifar, sac hippocamp for karmic guide bringing back hippocamp untapping vannifar. Sac hippocamp again getting kiki. Kiki makes a copy of karmic guide getting hippocamp untapping kiki. Then kiki combo. It's possible to pull this off on turn two or three.

BIRTHING POD: Same thing as vannifar but using felidar guardian instead of breaching hippocamp. Pod doesn't have summoning sickness but is more mana intensive. Lots of times it's ok to cast pod and sac a dork to get a hatebear and go for the win next turn.

Survival of the fittest: while being a generally good tutor, survival can also put all the kiki pieces is in the graveyard so you can cast karmic guide and start the combo.

Derevi: Easy najeela combo piece that also serves as a vannifar/pod untapper so that you can start the chain on a 2 drop and also plays well as a tempo/stax piece. Easily the most useful card in the deck.

Druids Repository: additional najeela combo piece that, with our creature focused list, can also ramp and break parity. Can also be cut if you're happy with just kiki/derevi as wincons.

STAX

Some of our best stax pieces are the rule of law effects. We play rule of law, arcane laboratory, eidolon of rhetoric, ethersworn canonist and deafening silence. None of these effects stop any of our win conditions and we're usually happy to cast just one spell per turn.

We break parity on lots of our stax. The deck is creature focused so that we play through thalia guardian of thraben, thorn of amethyst and deafening silence. We play all the dorks to play through kataki, null rod and collector ouphe. Unfortunately, the null rod effects DO shut down birthing pod and skull clamp.

DRAW and TUTOR

Unless you find yourself able to combo quickly, this deck needs to find card advantage engines. Luckily, Najeela has lots of draw options that synergize with the deck like skullclamp, mindblade render, oakhome adversary, sygg river cutthroat, azra oddsmaker, edric, tymna, and (meta choice) runic armasaur. We can also play all the best staple card draw like mystic remora, sylvan library, and dark confidant.

Alternatively, there are a lot of tutors and we only need to tutor one card to get a win condition: birthing pod, vannifar, derevi, or druid’s repsitory. So extra tutors are available to find draw engines, hatebears, stax or whatever you may need.

Flex cards currently on the chopping block are runic armasaur, azra oddsmaker, caust caterpillar and qasali pridemage.
