Fully optimized competitive EDH deck for Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest. Let me know if I missed anything!

This a fully optimized Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest deck for cEDH, which focuses on the card Tooth and Nail as the primary enabler for game-winning combos. Note that I did not include a budget limit due to this deck not having any budget constraints, so suggest your hearts out!

Mazirek

Mazirek is a mid-tier commander that can have many decks built around him, such as counter-synergy, stax, aristocrats and combo. This deck is the combo-control version, as Mazirek himself is a very nice combo piece in the command zone with Persist creatures. This deck in particular is a Tooth and Nail.dec, as mentioned above, with TaN fetching all the game-winning combos. This means our wincon is usually 1-2 cards that are very easily accessible (TaN and the commander).

Why no "x" card?

So as you can tell by this list, it is far from your average Mazirek list. First off, the card ratios are very different from an average list due to focusing on a select amount of combos that work with other combo pieces. Mazirek is a primary combo piece in this deck, but it can win without him with ease.

As far as suggestions go, I am mainly looking for either cards to protect the combos, cheap tutors or swapping in for more stronger combo pieces. However, if there are any cards that are very optimal for this deck that should be in it, let me know and I will consider adding it in!

Wincons

As there is only one card we need in hand in order to win, there are some flex slots in the deck that can be used as other means of winning.

These are the primary combos to go to via Tooth and Nail:

• Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Triskelion (wincon)

• Avenger of Zendikar + Craterhoof Behemoth (wincon)

• Woodfall Primus + Mikaeus, the Unhollowed + Viscera Seer/sac outlet (soft lock)

• Woodfall Primus + Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest + Viscera Seer (soft lock)

Playing this Deck

Starting Hand

You will want ideally two lands, two ramp cards and a tutor in any starting hand. It is rather beneficial to have a combo piece in hand because you can either cast Tooth and Nail for cheap or throw in Eternal Witness in case you need to fall back if a combo gets disrupted

Tutoring

If you wind up drawing Tooth and Nail, then you can use tutors to search for a utility card rather than a combo piece. They are usually used if you have nine or more mana and no Tooth and Nail to go for a game-winning combo next turn.
