Korvold's Goblins: You Are What You Eat

Welcome! This is my competitive Goblins decklist. With the introduction of Conspicuous Snoop, and the recognition of the impressive number of Goblin tutors that exist in the game, I decided that focusing on Goblin wincons may permit some considerable consistency. The wincons that are used are basic wincons that have been seen time and time again throughout cEDH's lifetime. If you like the list, please leave an upvote. ASSISTANCE IS APPRECIATED! History

I once had this Krenko, Mob Boss deck. The deck felt amazing at first, and every time I comboed off for infinite tokens and infinite sacrifices, I felt amazing. Unfortunately, though, the people I played with most often would start to focus my Krenko, and the Krenko had no chance against higher tier players. So, instead of Krenko, I began to use Wort, Boggart Auntie Now, Wort was incredibly useful. She had recursion attached to her, which was neat, but what was more important was her access to black. I now had access to tutors and black Goblins like Boggart Harbinger. This change was around the time card:Conspicious Snoop came out, and so I got easy access to a fun infinite. I saw the power of consistent combos with goblins, and I wanted to dig deeper. That's what lead me here.

Upon first thinking about this deck's creation, I asked some people if I should do it. I was told by many goblin enthusiasts that it'd be heresy to run a Goblin deck without running a Goblin at the helm. To them I say this; Shattergang Brothers are awful, Korvold, Fae-Cursed King is amazing, and Korvold is a Goblin. While it may not say it on the card, remember the sound piece of advice we've all once heard; you are what you eat.

Combos

PERSIST COMBO Show

Metallic Mimic/Grumgully, the Generous + Putrid Goblin/Murderous Redcap + Sac Outlet

Putrid Goblin and Redcap both have undying, but the -1/-1 counters are canceled out by the +1/+1 counters on Metallic Mimic and Grumgully. That means that when either of the persisting Goblins die, they will return without the -1/-1 counters. Persist's rules text are as follows: "When this creature dies, if it had no -1/-1 counters on it, return it to the battlefield under its owner's control with a -1/-1 counter on it." That means since the creatures have no -1/-1 counters on them when they re-enter the battlefield, they can die and re-enter the battlefield infinitely.

DOCKSIDE SABERTOOTH COMBO Show

Dockside Extortionist + Temur Sabertooth

So long as your opponents control five or more artifacts and/or enchantments in total, this combo can generate you infinite mana and ETBs. When Dockside enters the battlefield, he creates a ton of treasure tokens. You can sacrifice two of these treasure tokens to send Dockside back to your hand with Sabertooth, and then sacrifice two more treasures to recast Dockside. When he enters the battlefield, you create the treasures again.

FOOD CHAIN COMBO Show

Squee, the Immortal + Food Chain

So long as you have both cards out, you have infinite mana. With food chain, you can exile a creature you control to grant yourself as much mana as is in its CMC plus one, and you can cast Squee from your graveyard or from exile. So you exile Squee, cast Squee, and repeat the cycle for infinite mana.

ZEALOUS CONSCRIPTS COMBO Show

Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker/Splinter Twin + Zealous Conscripts he o If you have Zealous Conscripts out, you have two options; Splinter Twin, or Kiki-Jiki. With Splinter Twin, you enchant your Conscript to create a copy of itself. When the copy enters the battlefield, you target the enchanted Conscript. This untaps it, so that you can create another copy and repeat the process. Alternatively, you can go with the Goblin combo. You copy Conscripts with Kiki-Jiki, then target Kiki-Jiki with the conscripts to untap him. Then you simply repeat the process.

With Splinter Twin, you also have the option to make a copy of Goblin Sharpshooter. If you do this, you can tap the Goblin Sharpshooter using Splinter Twin's effect to make a copy of itself. You can then ping something with the new Sharpshooter. If you're able to kill something with the Sharpshooter, both Sharpshooters untap. If you can't kill something with the Sharpshooter, that's fine, so long as you can kill something with some other effect to untap both Sharpshooters. Now that both are untapped, you can create another Sharpshooter copy, totaling your Sharpshooter count to three. From here, you can create infinite ETBs and LTBs. All you have to do is ping one of the Sharpshooters that aren't enchanted with the other Sharpshooter that isn't enchanted. Since Sharpshooter is a 1/1, when you do this, the Sharpshooter should die, making your Sharpshooters untap, so that you can tap the Splinter Twin'd Sharpshooter to make another Sharpshooter copy, and repeat the process infinitely.

CONSPICUOUS SNOOP COMBO Show

Conspicuous Snoop + Boggart Harbinger/Goblin Recruiter + Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Sling-Gang Lieutenant

If you have Conspicuous Snoop out, cast Boggart Harbinger. When Harbinger enters the battlefield, you can put Kiki-Jiki on top of your library. Conspicuous Snoop has the activated abilities of any Goblin on the top of your library, so you can create a copy of Conspicuous Snoop with your Conspicuous Snoop, Mirror Breaker. You can do this indefinitely. Then, you can create a copy of Boggart Harbinger with your last Kiki-Snoop. When you do, you can top Sling-Gang Lieutenant to sacrifice the billions of Conspicuous Jikis.
