Casual Beast Deck

Modern

Despite appreciating the strengths and weakness of all colors, I have an ingrained propensity towards the awesome creatures and earthy atmosphere of Green. I built this deck to kick derriere whilst commanding epic, relatively low-cost beasts. It's only been around for a handful of months, slowly changing shape as my acquisitions accrue, but it's been a blast to pilot and has proven to be quite functional and versatile. I wouldn't call it an earth-shattering deck by any means, but it's certainly my favorite.

The deck puts Advocate of the Beast (x3) alongside some relatively inexpensive beasts, each with their own upsides. Though being the most expensive cards in the deck, enchantment Primeval Bounty and creatures Vigor and Spearbreaker Behemoth turn the battlefield into your playground whenever they show up. Nylea, God of the Hunt and Bow of Nylea will also pour the hurt-sauce on your opponents' creatures, no matter what you've brought out.

The deck is also geared pretty strongly towards fighting flying creatures. This is so the deck can maintain its down-to-earth beastly feel yet still function strongly against those fanciful fliers.

Considering the rapid creature growth offered by the Advocate of the Beast , Ring of Kalonia , 2x Leafcrown Dryad , and other spells, once the Prowler's Helm or Dryad's Favor gives you an opening, your once woodsy beasts are now unstoppable towers of indestructible (see Spearbreaker Behemoth's ability) destruction. And if you don't manage to swing such a convenient opening, no worries ~ your deathtouch-laced (Bow of Nylea) trample-graced (Nylea, God of the Hunt and Ring of Kalonia ) beasts will simply make one for you.

So awesome.
