This is my first upload and my main deck, I've only just recently gotten back into MTG after taking a 3 year break and found myself in very competitive pods with decks that were comboing off faster than anything that I'd seen in my previous experience and with the release of Paradox Engine, saw an opportunity to turn my favorite commander into a combo beast. So here's my Captain Sisay deck as I am currently running it, it's fast and wins often, it wasn't always the beast it is now and has gone through dozens of major changes over the course of 6 years. It still has your classic Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite + Living Plane combo but that has been replaced as the "Win Con" by the monster that is Paradox Engine. Engine opens up a whole new way to play Sisay and turns a well built Sisay deck into a consistent turn 3-5 combo-to-win deck. It is possible to win T1, though it would require a 1-in-a-million hand but still, how many other decks can win T1?

"T1 win you say? No Way!" Well how bout I show you:

---> land > Mana Vault > Chrome Mox (or Mox Diamond if I had one) > Mox Opal > Paradox Engine > Mana Crypt > Lightning Greaves > Captain Sisay > proceed to play your deck.

Now for a much more common scenario:

T1: land > sol ring > greaves (if you got them)

T2: land > sisay > tutor up mox opal (opal should be your first tutor unless you have a mana to play something after you cast engine or a mana rock that cost 0)

T3: land > tutor and play engine > opal > Reki, History of Kamigawa > Azusa, Lost but Seeking > etc... till you play out your deck and attack table for lethal which is done easily by getting Akroma's Memorial + Heroes' Podium .

So basically, your goal is to do your whole combo in one turn if you can, a T2 Grand Abolisher or Dosan the Falling Leaf are ideal for T3 win but aren't always necessary as many opponents won't have responses that early unless you're in a very competitive meta. Set up against a fierce meta may take longer but the goal is the same and fortunately for you, you play sisay so you can typically get the answers.

This is a combo deck, not stax, I plan on building a separate decklist that focuses on stax and control very soon, so with that said feel free to fire away in the comments section with potential improvements I can make on my current list with the intent of making it more consistent combo deck. Thank you :)

[update] removed some sup-par legends and o-ring for Beast Within and some mana dorks. Ramp is much more consistent now.

[update 2] trimmed down cmc a bit by removing Iona and Vorinclex and then replaced Dosan and Bear Umbra. Put in Sanctum Prelate to ward off pesky Toxic Deluge , Cyclonic Rift, and majority of counters. Added Eldritch Evolution and Academy Rector as a b/u win-con. I also plan on tossing in Concordant Crossroads and maybe Oath of Nissa.

[update 3] tossed in crossroads, City of Solitude (may replace with dosan but playing around with it for the time being), replaced Return to Dust with Nature's Claim and a threw in Hall of Gemstone . I cut Privileged Position and Karametra, God of Harvests, I love PP but it's just too slow for deck in its current state and the same goes for karametra. Traded out prelate for Crop Rotation. Next step will be cutting Avacyn for Mox Diamond w/e I finally get one.
