Captain Sisay Stax: The gameplan for a stax deck is to aggressively attempt to lock your opponents out of the game by using hate pieces that negate the strategy for winning the game and taking away advantage from your opponents, thus giving you advantage over the game. Captain Sisay does this particularly well by being able to tutor for hate pieces that are legendary as well as having access to green for creature tutors that can either give hatebears that are detrimental to your opponents, or giving mana dorks that offer the ability to negate the effect from the stax pieces that affect you and your opponents or protection like sylvan safekeeper that protects your hatebears. White gives access to powerful hatebears like Linvala, who shuts down creature based strategies and mana dorks. Decks like The Gitrog Monster  and Yisan are slowed down drastically or prevented from winning through combo. The idea is to try and ramp out to a captain sisay for a hopeful turn 2, and then go for hate and stax pieces that prevent your opponent from playing the game or you can go straight for the combo with a hand that has a creature tutor for ballista. Captain sisay tutors for Heliod so the creature tutors that put a creature in hand or on top of library go for ballista. If the combo fails and is unable to be saved, locking out your opponents and combat is the next option. The Combo: Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista. Using Heliod's ability to give a creature Lifelink to Walking Ballista and Walking Ballista's ability to remove counters to deal damage, using a lifelink enhanced Ballista to deal damage gives Ballista a counter back with Heliod's Triggered ability, to which you just continuously deal damage to your opponents until the lose. Recursion options: While there is a good amount of protection for Heliod and Ballista, counter spells are also an issue. This is where Captain Sisay comes into play once more. Captain Sisay can tutor for Bow of Nylea or Hua Tuo, Honored Physician to recur either combo piece if they are put into grave somehow. Plan B: If the combo fails, Urza's Ruinous Blast and Bow of Nylea with Captain Sisay's tutor ability allows you to exile your opponents' opposition to your combat option, as well as the ability to recur Legendary Creatures to go to combat with that also hate and stax your opponents.
