A big thanks to all contributors who took the liberty and the time to add anything valuable, even when it seemed invaluable. I love to see your critism, uplifting comments, upvotes and general chitter coming in...

First of all, thanks so far for all the suggestions and advise. Did made me think of cards I never even seriously considered playing.

@ canterlotguardian: Both Hall of Triumph and Heroes' Podium are pretty nice, but I think they won't give the extra edge or extra push the deck needs around that time. I tend to play more utility over bigger creatures. Same counts for Day of Destiny. Even if I plan to play one, I would have a hard time choosing what to drop for it.

@ asasinater13: You are so right about Dragonlord Dromoka and when I get one in my possession, it will make it to the main board. Easy swap with Dosan the Falling Leaf

@ RaZielow: The Wilt-Leaf Liege is an interesting card. But I'm not sure about what to replace it for. It makes me more interested than other creature boosters. Added it to my Maybeboard for more thought over this. The Dragonlord Dromoka is surely going to make the main board.

A little side anthem I am running now is Dragons... Lovely :-)

My Maybeboard is now updated as well. Any thoughts or advise on these few cards?

I would suggest iona but playing her feels gross so I like that she isn't here. If you're competitive though use her

Quick question. How useful is Mother of Runes in this format?

@ RaZielow: Fleecemane Lion surely is a card I would add to the maybeboard for further reviewing. Unflinching Courage is nice, but I don't believe it will have a great impact in this deck. Loxodon Smiter could be nice, but I would not have a clue which creature would leave the deck for him. Advent of the Wurm is pretty much the same way; nice, but not an improvement of what is currently present. Although being an instant surely has potential. Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit is indeed an interesting card; added to the maybeboard for a deeper thought. Mother of Runes is a lovely card which you probably missed, as it is already present in the deck. Nevertheless a great pick!

Thanks for the input RaZielow. Very appreciated!

@JustJoshingU: Thanks for the kind words. If you come up with good ideas, know where to put 'em +1

@asasinater13: I have to admit that Iona, Shield of Emeria is a super competitive card. I left her out for the reason that some of my friends play a devotion commander deck. Keeping it casual for a peacefull mindset :-)

@DavidBray: It is very usefull as it is able to protect my commander when needed. Besides that, any other creature that tends to be targeted will have its protection. It is also an ideal pick when I play Yisan, the Wanderer Bard and activate it the first time. Drawing this card is never drawing a dead card...

I'm really surprised to not see Fleecemane Lion

April 2, 2015 11:09 a.m.

This is a really well built deck.

If I had to suggest anything, it would be Odric, Master Tactician .

Either way, +1 for a solid deck.

April 2, 2015 4:09 p.m.

I think you should make this deck better by playing your Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite *A* in judge promo.

Ob Nixilis, Unshackled Seems like it could be a huge problem for you, why not use a Pithing Needle So that weakness doesn't exist?

This looks good, every time I think of a creature-suggestion I find it's already in there. There's not much ramp in here, and few lands. Do you usually have the mana you need? A budget tutor that you might like is Time of Need.

Hello dear visitors and fellow players,

Thank you so much for the great imput so far. I will specifically react on each suggestion mentioned.

@ mothecrusher thank you being my testing piggy xD +1

@ Enlightened_Magi made an interesting suggestion I recently decided not to use. But now that it was brought to my attention yet again, I will review it again and added it to my Maybeboard. What would you take out of the deck when you would add Heroes' Podium? The Fleecemane Lion is indeed a good card, but not that good to make it to the mainboard. It doenst have a 'world effect' that could be gamechanging.

@ DBCooper You are so right about this card, if only it was allowed in EDH decks. As far as I am aware, Karakas is still banned :-( Or am I mistaken?

@ HeroInMyOwnMind made a good suggestion. An interesting card Odric, Master Tactician is! Having troubles to decide what to change it for. Suggestions?

@ BarbedArseBlade things I am swimming in cash xD. I wish I could affort this card... But for now I am happy to even have the normal version present ;-)

@ Cerradura made a good point and if I ran into on on the board I could be in serious trouble. I will be adding this Pithing Needle to my sideboard for such occasions.

@ Indigoindigo did point out a nice tutor type of card. In my very first version I had it present in my deck. But over time I wanted to downgrade the amount of cards like Time of Need abit. Otherwise I feel the deck is relying too much on tutor cards.

What do you guys/gals think about my present Maybeboard? I can't decide on which one should make the mainboard and which one should eventually be dropped....

Thanks!!

@ Cerradura: The Pithing Needle targets activated abilities of cards. Ob Nixilis, Unshackled has a triggered ability and therefor it will not stop him from activating when I search my deck with the Needle on the table. Other suggestions?

April 4, 2015 5:40 p.m.

@ PartyJ: I just did a gatherer search and the only way to stop triggered abilities is with individual conterspells that will do it once, so my only advice is to not bother with it. Trying to play around one card will only weaken your deck as you are taking out valuble slots to stop one card you might play against. You also have to account for the percentage chance that you will draw this wonder card that stops him. Your deck already has answers for Ob Nixilis, Unshackled as is anyway, you have plenty of removal and in response to the casting just fetch your Mangara of Corondor and you can wait a turn to kill it. I would also suggest adding the Pithing Needle anyway as it is a fantastic card to shut down planeswalkers and other powerful nonland permenants.

April 5, 2015 2:51 a.m.

Also please add a Karametra, God of Harvests. It is so powerful in this deck. You get it straight away and you will ramp like crazy as you cast all of your legendarys. I palyed competitive Sisay for a while and I could not recommend Karametra enough.

That is quite beautiful! I like the fact that it totally forgoes control to be like "hey, this is a commander deck which means 'FU' to control and hello big, super useful legendary things!"

+1 from me sir or madam!

Replying from Advertise your Deck! forum

Captain Sissay was my second EDH deck back in 2009. I had a lot less choices, but I have continued playing it ever since. Still one of my favorites.

Looks like a good list so far. I like your synergy and the card choices for the better Legends seem tight, but I see a lot of trimming that can be done, especially in the non-Legendary line up you have.

Problems I see:

Your 1-3 drops in creatures are a little light, combined with no token generation this means your taps from Gaea's Cradle are going to be lackluster in early game.

  • Sun Titan doesn't hit many viable targets aside Eternal Witness but with only 1 sac outlet the e-Wit doesn't return too much that it wouldn't already with Hua Tuo, Honored Physician and Regrowth.

  • Multani, Maro-Sorcerer can be a huge beater in a group game, but often draws you too much hate and dies easily against experienced Blue, Red, or Black players, due to discard and other hand-dropping effects.

  • Yeva, Nature's Herald. Lackluster especially as a four drop, only good play I see is sneak playing e-Wit. Did I miss something?

  • Reki, the History of Kamigawa makes good card advantage. Card advantage is good right? Not so much in a deck that searches so much. It helps with trick plays with tutor search, but not enough to do anything worth while. A lot of times he will force you to play lines while being greedy and you will over extend. In a toolbox build drawing too much can hurt you sometimes.

  • Sunscorch Regent this guy seems really mediocre and we can find something better for this slot.

  • Return to Dust can't be cast through Gaddock Teeg. May be a small thing but may be important if you run up against a good reanimater player. There are better options that we can use, like Consign to Dust or Sundering Vitae.

Suggestions:

  • Skyship Weatherlight is the most commonly overlooked Legendary targets for Sissay. Seems kinda weird right?
    Morpheus voice

What if I told you there was a way to search for non-Legendary targets with Captain Sissay?

Skyship has this random clause on it, and you're making a billion mana a turn... Any number can be 1.So randomly put 1 of 1 cards in your hand. Its a little slow, but you can make it work.

I'm back after some real useful comments from great members of this community.

I will reply to all of you and hope to see you back for more discussions, as I love to hear your replies on my reactions...

@ BarbedArseBlade : Thank you for your very true words. I had the bad luck that I ran into Ob Nixilis, Unshackled twice in a row right after you commented. But as you said, there is already enough response in the deck available. I added the Pithing Needle to my sideboard. I see it's potential, but not sure yet how to move it in. I will review my sideboard again, after the big update I am running now.

The second suggestion - Karametra, God of Harvests - I totally agree on. It has been moved to the mainboard in this deck update.

@ wolfging : Thanks for the kind words. I still experience some control issues sometimes, but I hope to get those issues out of the way soon :-)

@ hateindigital : Thanks! All support is appreciated.
