Solemnity stops a number of things.

Undying creatures always pop back up Antler Skulkin serves this purpose and lets you machine gun fire down counters that are already on the field with Suncleanser and Martyr's Cause

Cumulative upkeep Sustaining Spirit and Glacial Chasm both cost zero as long as they don't get age counters on them.

Vanishing Lost Auramancers will come in with no counters. They still need to die - either by sacrificing or running them into enemy lines, but the usual target is Overwhelming Splendor
