Sping is coming! But with spring comes withdrawl from my blue addiction. (twitch)
This is going to be my new Modern project for the coming months. I'm attempting to shift away from my normal Control playstyle and use something different. I settled on Junk since it allows for me to utilize some of my favourite Black cards to full effect. I would love feed back to be constructive and insightful.
So, some might look at this deck and say: "Gee, it's expensive, but how does it work?" Well I'm glad you asked random Internet Stranger!
The Deck
The deck is a basically a "good stuff" deck. I took some of the best cards from each colour and threw it into the deck and saw what stuck, and what didn't.
However, in all seriousness, the deck is basically running off of the synergy created by generating discard and card advantage. I have multiple threats that my opponent is forced to deal with, and enough removal to deal with anything they throw at me.
Liliana of the Veil is the star of the show. In tandem with Dark Confidant I can pump up a lot of my creatures, and Knight of the Reliquary allows me to tutor lands while giving herself a nice boost.
The Sideboard
Some of the sideboard at first glance is detrimental to this deck. Mostly Grafdigger's Cage and
topor orb
. Fear not, that's why I'm running a multitude of threats. Also, Gavony Township is always my friend. The sideboard is designed with 4 specific decks in mind, mostly to combat the meta I face:
Affinty, UWR Control, Splinter Twin, Pod.
The nice thing about the sideboard is that because of its overlapping quality I am able to adjust to a variety of decks.
