Sideboard

This started off as a full zombie tribal deck but has morphed into a more monoblack ramp good stuff deck with a zombie sub theme. It is a very resilient deck with multiple wincons from zombie flood to a massive exsanguinate. There is also a full compliment of, wipes, sacrifice effects, card draw, recursion and value creatures to stay in control. I've been playing with this deck for over a year now and I'm working on foiling it out. As such I'm pretty settled on the list but I'm always open to suggestions and new cards like the excellent thought vessel from the new set. I will say that single target removal is not an issue due to the wipes and sacrifice effects, the Hero's Downfall is mainly here to kill planeswalkers.

General advice

This deck plays relatively straight forward but your opening hand should dictate your strategy. Will you be zombie tribal deck using Gisa to make an undead horde. Will you be ramping into a Sheoldred or Karn. Are you playing hard control using edict affects to lock down the board. There are so many different avenues in this deck and so many different ways to win that don't even need the combo's below. it is also important to note that Gisa is not vital to victory and she should be treated as a vlue engine. The other legendary creatures could theoretically replace her however I would advise against this. She is used in two of the infinite combos and synergises so well with the other parts of the deck activating your zombie lords and triggering the edict effects among others. But feel free to experiment.

Infinite combos

I've made sure the infinite combos require lots of cards to work (you won't see a triskelion) to keep games interesting while allowing crazy wins. In truth they are quite easy to assemble with all the card draw and tutors.

Infinite zombies- Ghoulcaller Gisa + Phyrexian Altar + Thornbite Staff + anything that can get the zombies to become 3/3. eg. any of the lords

Infinite mana- same as above but then you sac all the zombies to Phyrexian Altar for a big Exsanguinate or other crazy play

Infinite damage- Blood Artist + Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + any other zombie

Infinite counters on Black Market Black Market + Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + any other zombie

Total creature lock Grave Pact + Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + any other zombie Also works with and Butcher of Malakir or Dictate of Erebos instead of the grave pact

Parts of these combo's can be changed around and Viscera Seer can act as the alter but will not get you any mana to keep the combo going forever.

Also it may seem that the Phyrexian alter is crucial to the deck but remember if you make 40 mana in a turn which is quite easy it really doesn't matter. Your opponents won't know the difference between 40 Gisa activations and 4000, they'll be dead either way.

There are heaps of other synergies in the deck that come up while playing and to me that's the best part.

If anyone out there would like a more detailed analysis of the deck I'm happy to do it.
