Azorius never felt so good! Get your "Raff Capashen Ship's Mage" today and get a full combo of endless Mana in any Endstep or Combat Phase of the game! New Recipe developed by German c-EDH prodigy and tournament tested!

Have much fun reading my (first) primer and please dont forget to leave feedback either for the Decklist or the Primer itself.

Explaining the overall gameplay of the Deck: The Deck basically follows 3 Gameplans that lead into each other and support each other pretty well. Plan 1: Ramp with mana Rocks and keep trading some Interaction for Boardcontrol.

Plan 2: Put out Stax-Pieces and keep your opponents slowed down enough for you to continue Plan 3.

Plan 3: Assemble one of the Various Combostrings of the Deck and force it through with out protection.

Why Raff Capashen?

Long things short: Instead of going off in our Turn we can pressure our opponents everytime (similar to Flashhulk). Also beeing able to flash in a Grafdiggers Cage or Torpor Orb can be key to disrupting our foes.

Main Combos:

1: Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal

Upsides: Instant Speed (With Walking Ballista, Staff of Domination or Pull from Tomorrow), Mana Efficient.

Downsides: Needs small board setup, can be disrupted pretty easily.

2: Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth

Upsides: Instant Speed (With Walking Ballista, Staff of Domination or Pull from Tomorrow), Either can be on Board in the forehand.

Downsides: A bit specific.

3: Power Artifact + Basalt/Grim Monolith

Upsides: Fairly searchable.

Downsides: Sorcery Speed, Carddisadvantage if disrupted.

Stax Pieces:

Containment Priest, Hushwing Gryf and Torpor Orb are specifically good to counter the Fish-Hulk Meta.

Cursed Totem and Aura of Silence stop our opponents from developing their gameplan too fast.

Mystic Remora and Rhystic Study provide constant taxing and give us the carddraw we need to win counter-wars and gaining recources.

Protection and Setup:

Gitaxian Probe and Peek give us Intel and Information on how much mana to keep open, surprise combos to watch out for and if we can win a game deciding counter-war. Also they provide us political power when shifting focus on the unfortunate foe we investigated.

The Trio of Trinket, Tribute and Trophy Mage provide us boardpresence while maintaining Card quality and quantity. Watch out for your own ETB-Denial effects though!

Main Search Targets:

Trinket Mage: Sensei's Divining Top, Walking Ballista, Mana Vault/Crypt, Moxes

Tribute Mage: Isochron Scepter, Grim Monolith, Cursed Totem, Torpor Orb, Defense Grid

Trophy Mage: Rings of Brighthearth, Basalt Monolith, Shimmer Myr, Staff of Domination

Thanks for your time and for reading my primer!!

I hope you will have as much success and fun with this pretty exotic c-EDH list of mine.
