pie chart B/W Tokens! 16-7!

With my own Flavour of course... I've been playing with this and U/b/w Delver along with Delver Blade and I've noticed that the B/W tokens is much more consistent. You can place in the top 1/3 with this deck but with Delver you can place from 1st to last. Take that for what its worth!

MY bud has officially taken over this deck and placed 2-2 last night. I know he beat U/r Delver (Minni list from 2 weekends ago) but didn't fair well against R/G Aggro. Not sure what the other two decks he faced were (will update later) but for the first time in 2 months this deck did not make at least Top 8.

Hey, just because i removed elspeth from my deck doesnt mean shes not good, i just found she didnt add a lot to my Meta. As for your deck drop the Elgaud InquisitorMTG Card: Elgaud Inquisitor hes just bad! Maybe add another Increasing DevotionMTG Card: Increasing Devotion?

Curious what are you going to use Liliana for from your SB?

Basically one of the top websites of the world. In its sub topics this exists where many magic players gather. (lol)

Personally im not a fan of blade splicer in here... splicer only gets pumped from honor and the golem only gets pumped by the virtue. I have midnight haunting in there instead because it gives you 2 fliers that get pumped from both.

Shrine of Loyal Legions lets you overcommit and not get punished for it. Seems a lot better than Increasing Devotion.

I've seen that Shrine in action and it looks really good. I will take that into consideration, thank you!

i would take out 2 honor's and add in 1 mirran and 1 inquisitor

vednar says... #9

Thanks! It's something that I am highly considering. To be honest, its like you read my mind, I'm going to be playing some serious magic today (like 10 hours) and will be subbing that in and out as the day goes along.

How do you feel about Grand Abolisher in there as a two of. (Either to replace Mirran or Inquisitor) and adding Faith's Shield either to the MB or SB?

March 16, 2012 11:10 a.m.

boston-boy says... #10

i would throw the sheild in side board for sure and for the abolisher, i would first play the first game to see how your opoinent plays and then if they are using a lot of instants on your turn or if they dont play zombies, werewolves or vampires, then trade out the abloishers for the inquisitors but other than that i say the deck is good as is, and may not even need the abolishers, if you want you can look at my black white version of this called deck:blackwhite-sorin

I recently found out that adding Doomed Traveler in aswell is very good, I see youve added in Elite inquisitor at most i would only SB the card unless your meta is just zombie/wolf/vampire decks. I have to mention though that the way Token decks win is having all those anthems out if i were you i would put those 2 honor of the pure back in, and maybe SB one out if need be.

I have put in those Doomed Travelers as of last night and taken out 1 sorin, 1 oblivion ring, and 2 increasing devotion. Im still trying to find a way to keep increasing devotion in the deck because it can give you a big turn around late game.

Like to see your trying to make your own variation though

d2r2b is right, but you dont need that many buffs, think of it like this, you swing 4 tokens with an intangible virtue on the field, so they are all 2/2 at least not including maybe one honor or a sorin emblem, and lets say 2 are spirits and 2 are humans so when they put up their blockers to get your humans out of the way so they take less damage, you activate your vault of the archangel, that way you gain at least 8 life back and you kill anything that is blocking your humans unless they are indestructible, so its a win no matter what because you deal more significant damage and take out their big creatures

I think a compromise is in place, I've brought in the Grand Abolisher as a 1x and bumped up the Honour 1x to 3x. With some more playing, eventually I will discover what works best. Thanks for the info and keep it coming!

I will report back with my thoughts as well.

oh, my bad i thought you already had at least 2 honors in your deck, then yeah maybe go to 2 honors and 2 abolishers that way you can get a better chance at having the abolisher see play, and you still get the honor buff.

March 17, 2012 9:36 p.m.

boston-boy says... #15

oh and what happened to your mirran crusader, they are pretty good, especially in this kind of deck, just thin a 3/3 mirran which swings for 6 baasically, and has pro black/green which is what most decks are in standard, and good job moving the inquisitors to side board, that way if you play a vamp, were, zombie deck you can have a prefect sideboard

vednar says... #16

Doh, I had it at 2x, I meant I increased it 1x to a total of 3x. I am subbing a creature in and out every time I go play, yesterday I had 2x Inquisitors and 2x Crusader. Now I have 2x Doomed and 1x Abolisher and 1x Honour (total of 3 Honour)

oh nice, how is it going for you?

I played today at the Standard tourney at my LGS and went 3-1. I had it with 2x Elite Inquisitor and 2x Honour (different then what I just changed it to) I lost round 2 to a Rogue Elf deck. I'm new to most Standard Competitive and developing competitive decks so I knew absolutely nothing about this Rogue Elf deck. Won game 1 but he was able to get off his win conditions game 2 and 3. His tourney total was 1-3, but I did have tons of fun playing and that's all I'm really after at this point!

boston-boy says... #19

yeah, your deck seems to work cause thats about as good as i do, so it works definitely, your biggest problem though will be wolf run and trample decks because your creatures wont have the toughness to block all the trample

March 17, 2012 9:57 p.m.

vednar says... #20

Yeah, I have considered this, that's why if I see my LGS meta going towards this, I have created Sam Black's Delver Spirit deck 1:1. (The one Jon Finkel used in Honolulu).

I will be playing Standard alternating between the two.

March 17, 2012 10:14 p.m.

D2r2b says... #21

This deck doesnt do bad against wolf run, its fast and has fliers. Only problem ivr had is inkmoth nexus. So i have a couple tragic slip and 2 curse of deaths hold in SB

March 20, 2012 6:53 p.m.
