Introduction

BW Skyfish is a Midrange deck that utilizes powerful threats supplemented with disruption spells to overwhelm your opponent. This is a deck that can be build on a budget, and has a fighting chance against most Tier One decks.

Card Choices

Hand Disruption

Cabal Therapy - Cabal Therapy is a powerful discard spell, and can give you a boost on card advantage. It is especially powerful when used you have a board full of tokens.

Collective Brutality - Being in the colors of Black and White means we lack card selection tools that most blue decks utilize, so having a flexible card that recycles our dead cards is extremely powerful.

Duress - Gets rid of a lot of problematic cards that we can't answer with removal.

Gerrard's Verdict - Punishes aggro decks by giving your opponent a choice: Lose your action or get behind on the damage race.

Hymn to Tourach - Screws up our opponent's hands. This can cripple your opponent's hand if you hit the right cards, but it can be a bit of a gamble.

Tidehollow Sculler - One of the best hand disruption pieces in the whole deck. It's a win condition and a discard spell in one package.

Removal

Dead of Winter - Great board wipe that can set our opponents back many turns.

Dismember - Solid 1cc removal that can kill creatures that our other removal can't hit.

Fatal Push - Gets rid of most creatures in the format.

Kaya's Guile - Another modal spell which acts as a sideboard stuffed into one card. Allows you to remove a well-protected threat, clean up an opponent's graveyard, create a chump blocker, or gain an extra turn against Burn.

Liliana's Triumph - Gets rid of annoying creatures with shroud, protection, or hexproof.

Orzhov Pontiff - A flexible spell that can either sweep up a board of X/1s or pump up your Lingering Souls tokens for some extra damage.

Palace Jailer - A removal spell and card advantage engine bundled together.

Plague Engineer - Kills many widely played creatures and gives you a 2/2 Deathtouching body. Also hoses tribal decks.

Swords to Plowshares - The best 1 mana removal spell in the format. Kills almost any creature, and the lifegain is virtually irrelevant.

Vindicate - Clean, efficient, removal. A bit clunky as a 3cc sorcery. but still powerful.

Threats

Gurmag Angler - This zombie fish is a four turn clock, and the main win condition of the deck. Gurmag Angler is essentially a 1 mana 5/5 once you've cast enough spells.

Lingering Souls - Creating a wide board of fliers is very powerful, and this card also doubles as a chump-blocking machine.

Pack Rat - A threat that continues to grow every turn. It allows you to recycle your dead cards into bodies.

It is possible to lower the cost, here are a list of cards to cut and their replacements. These cuts should bring the cost down to about ~$100.
