DECK MECHANICS
The Main Deck is designed to Burn your opponents out using Lightning Strike and Magma Jet on early turns and blocking early creatures with Nyx-Fleece Ram and removing big threats with Chained to the Rocks
On the Mid-Late game, Dictate of Erebos is always good surprise for an exchange of their precious creatures to a death of your 1/1 tokens. also a great combination for Butcher of the Horde sac ability.
Crackling Doom
the best card on Mardu. also the added 2 damage helps a lot.
Butcher of the Horde with tokens to support, a permanent that can deal 5 damage and most likely 5 lifegain is an big advantage even when you hit them only once.

a 6 damage to your opponents plus 3 creatures that can either attack, block or support Butcher of the Horde.

when you pull this off, it is most likely a game ender.
SIDEBOARD MECHANICS
the sideboard is designed to switch you deck more into mill control. with Altar of the Brood each permanents that enters causes them to mill, and with your multiple token generating cards makes this perfect.
Goblinslide is there for more tokens since most of your spells are noncreature spells
End Hostilities when there is too much creatures to handle, this always come in handy.. also save's up you burn spells for your opponent rather than their creatures.
Bile Blight for mirror matches that uses token based creatures.
Stain the Mind
with convoke ability, you can cast this with your tokens. also a removal for cards that counter you strategy like Banishing Light or Bile Blight etc.
Resolute Archangel
is a great card for a control deck, casting this when you have 10 or less life is a big surprise for your opponent.
Erebos, God of the Dead with so many lifegain cards like Whip of Erebos , Siege Rhino , Jeskai Charm and Seeker of the Way being use in the format, this will hold them up until you finish them off with your burn spells.
