About the deck

I wanted to see how viable this was based on the viability of my other standard 4 color deck. Because the other worked so well, I figured I'd try to throw in the good ol' control into 4 color and see what happens when you mix the two best control decks: Bant and Esper. The result: Fantastic perfection.

Deck Record

***4-0 at FNM***Match 1: Jund blitz. 2-0, almost lost a game due to xenagos god making everything have haste, but won handily with a well-placed detention sphere and overwhelming Elspeth soldiers.Match 2: MBD. 2-0 Easy wins. Gray Merchant never went off for much due to my control, and my Sphinx's revs countered the life loss. Gave him a bunch of tough choices when he thoughtseized me, he always got something good but I still always had card advantage.Match 3: Bant Superfriends Control. 2-1. Got mana flooded and lost the first game. The other two games went fast because the superfriends assembled. Side note- Ashiok does work.Match 4: Some sort of red blitz deck. 2-0. Supreme verdict both games for the win with my walkers.***4-0 Tuesday Standard Tournament***Match 1: MUD. Didn't know this was still around, but devotion decks get raped by this one.Match 2: Boros burn with creatures. The guy won game 1, but Blind Obedience won me the next two games (along with Dispel), along with me gaining 100 life.Match 3: Another Boros burn but this one was creatureless (except Chandra's Phoenix . He didn't even win a game. Supreme Verdict is a thing and so is Dispel.Match 4: Orzhov Midrange. This was the toughest matchup. I lost the first game even after gaining 100 life because I drew only land and he had pack rats that were massive. Games 2 and 3 I scraped by, but they were both close matches.

The Cards

Ajani, Mentor of HeroesAn all-around badass. He will dig up some friends from the deck, and gain us ALL the life.Ashiok, Nightmare WeaverLet's go ahead and shut down their deck for a bit. While we're at it, let's steal their fatties! There's no recovering the cards Ashiok has rippedfrom their deck.Elspeth, Sun's ChampionShe provides blockers for days, a near-verdict that kills anything scary enough to try to hurt us (I'm looking at YOU, Stormbreath Dragon). Plus, she knows how to teach krakens to fly. Jace, Architect of Thought We can either stop some mini-aggro, or dig for whatever we want. It is doubtful you will get to ultimate him, but hey, stranger things have happened.Kiora, the Crashing WaveShe is a beast. Lock down something or draw some cards. Krakens for days.Vraska the UnseenHonestly, I didn't really think she was that good before. After using her here, I have found her home. She likes to have friends to keep her going. She can blow up something, she can kill creatures, and she can win the game. So useful in here.
