Trying to build a budget (sub-500) Kaalia deck, focused on combo/reanimator, with some hatebears & stax for my blue-heavy pod. Kokusho + Gisela are there for beatdown if all else fails. Might tweak the landbase & other stuff to bring it down to 200-300.

Taking notes from Bad_dog, Flash_Andretti, clay & benjameenbear's decks.

excluding razaketh for even more budget?

pre-req: 1R available, children of Korlis + Vilis in play, 9+ enemy artifacts/enchantments

1)play dockside [1R], generate 9+ treasures.

2)pay BB & 4 life to give dockside -2/-2 with Vilis, killing it. draw 4 cards.

3) pay 4B for corpse dance (with buyback) to reanimate dockside

4)rinse & repeat (1)-(3). if life gets too low, sac CoK & continue.

assuming you have 40 life, you can go down to 36 & do it again with CoK, drawing you 72 cards. depending on how long the game has gone/how many cards you've already drawn, this should be most of your library. (from turn 1 you'll have 91 in library, 7 in hand+1 draw for turn.) Stop when you have 4 or less cards left to prevent decking. if you cast angel's grace, then you get to draw 80 cards with CoK, without having to stop at 4 life each time.

if there are more than 9 enemy artifacts/enchantments, you get to go mana positive, netting at least 18 treasures. (assuming you have 40 life, you stop at 4 life, you do it twice thanks to CoK, and there are 10 enemy arts/enchants)with angels grace, you net at least 20 treasures.

definitely not an infinite wincon by itself, more of a stormy, math-intensive " digging thru your library for the actual wincon while generating mana" kinda thing.

if you replace CoK with Aetherflux reservoir, you dont need to worry about starting life totals (just make sure it isn't less than 4). you can win a pod of 4 if you manage to gain 150+ life (assuming nobody healed past 50 life) I've done the math, since you play 2 spells each loop (dockside +corpse dance), you only need to loop 5 times to gain 150+ life & laser the table.

Since you lose 4 life each loop, you'll also net 20 cards off Vilis. Not too important in this case, just to make sure you don't deck out.
