Budget GB Midrange | Less than $30!

Modern Budget Midrange

Sideboard

Hello folks! This is a budget deck I've built from a 8-rack budget. It's very cheap and it's working pretty well so far against semi-budget decks. This deck's strategy is to control your opponent's hand and his battlefield, while building up your Delirium to obliterate his life points and his dignity (With a little help from Vraska and her assassins :D ). I'll explain card by card and I hope you guys can help me improve it by giving me suggestions and MAYBE hints of how to add a new color to it (R or W). :D

So, first of all I'd like to apologize for my bad English. I'm no Native, but I'll try my best!

Alright, let us begin!

I'll start with the Hand control/Discard cards:

Duress/Despise - This is a Turn1 "Let me see your hand" card. And you also may discard any spell you believe its a threat. Pretty self-explanatory.

Pick the Brain - It's our Delirium hand control. It's very strong if you know what you're up against.

Vessel of Malignity - It's not the best card around, I know. But we need enchantments to build up our Delirium, and you can just leave it there laying on the field and anytime BAM "Exile your 2 last cards motherf*cker!". That's how it works.

Time for our removals!

Drown in Sorrow - It's our "Say goodbye to your HEXPROOF 2/2 ARMY! Oh, and I'll scry." It works for tokens also.

Grasp of Darkness - A simple -4/-4 removal, I hate the (B)(B) cost though.

Victim of Night - A good removal card with few creature type rules. Works well with Nameless Inversion for 800/800 vampire/zombie/Werewolf creatures.

Putrefy - A great GB removal. It doesn't have rules for creatures and also destroy artifacts. Fantastic.

Nameless Inversion - It's a -3 removal; it is two card types for our Delirium; Works well with Victim of Night; cancel any tribal markers and buffs on target creature. I almost want to kiss it.

Tribute to Hunger - Will change for Cruel Edict. It's good to have a sacrifice card to remove that 15/15 hexproof single bastard from the field.

Now, the damage dealers!

Moldgraf Scavenger - It's almost a barrier Turn2. With a fast delirium activation (usually happens), it can be a 3/4 creature on Turn 2 or 3.

Inexorable Blob - This card is the coolest on the deck. You will control an army of oozes and lead them to annihilation *Grim Laughter. But seriously, you will drain your opponents LP by sneezing on him (oozes, got it?).

Autumnal Gloom   - This is a very nice card. As an enchantment it will help us activating our Delirium. When flipped to a F*ckin 4/4 Trample Hexproof ENT Mofo, it is devastating. If you're playing 2 headed giant, that is the card for your ally to enchant something like Exoskeletal Armor.

Vampire Nighthawk - Well, every Black deck must have it. It's a broken creature card, period.

Reaper of the Wilds - With a good mana management, this card can be the most annoying creature your opponent will face. Hexproof and Deathtouch whenever you want, well, broken.

The single Planeswalker

Vraska the Unseen - In 3 Turns you will bring her assassins to the field and Unleash Hell. Or you can just keep destroying all permanents in the game while your creatures do the LP harassment.

As for the lands, I play 4x Terramorphic Expanse and a Evolving Wilds to help me build up my Delirium.

Alright, but what about the Sideboard?!

I'll tell you little grasshoppers. I always play locally, so I almost always know what I'm up against and I made a SB for that. So it's not a general SB, it's a SB I've made for my matchups and to make my friends angry! Even so, I'll explain the cards and my thoughts on them.

Golgari Charm - It's a must for a GB deck. Can be a token cleaner; can destroy that annoying enchantment (like Pacifism or Prison Term); and can also regenerate all of your creatures against a Languish, for example.

Flaying Tendrils - For when 2x Drown in Sorrow isn't enough and/or the opponent plays tokens, a lot of them.

Deathmark - Against Green or White decks you can change Grasp of Darkness for a single (B) mana removal.

Naturalize - Good against Artifacts and if you need more Enchantment removal.

Tainted Remedy - Everyone of us have a friend who loves to play lifegain decks. With this card, his Congregate will be your ally!

Tragic Slip - Great removal to have when playing Multiplayer, also good against quick decks, where you can block a 1/1 elf (for example), kill it and make the 13/13 with Exoskeletal Armor slip into his grave for a single (B) mana.

Autumn's Veil - This card is the anti-annoyance card. Playing against a Blue/Black control is absolutely annoying, so counter their Dissolve, Mana Leak, and all those cards you already know.

So this is my GB Midrange deck, I hope you enjoyed, for I am enjoying it a lot! It's extremely fun and very effective to play.

And I want you to help me improve it! Leave your suggestions and hints please! :D
